McLennan: ‘Craig Berube would be a perfect fit for Senators’

The Senators erased a 3-goal deficit on Monday night to defeat the Predators 4-3 in overtime. What sparked the comeback? Who would be a good fit for the next Senators head coach? What’s one area the Senators need to address? TSN Hockey analyst Jamie McLennan joins SC with Jay Onrait to break down the game and answer all those questions and more.

  1. I think Pittsburgh would be receptive to a trade for anyone on the penguins not named Sidney Crosby for a young guy like Matthew Knies and some picks if out of a playoff position come deadline.

  2. Ask the Raptors how they’ve done with a 2023 off-season change of head coach from Nick Nurse to Darko Rajaković. Outside preseason play (when they went 4-0), they’ve had only one month when they have won at least 50% of those games they’ve played. Winning-%-wise, outside preseason play, December, via a 3–10 record that saw the Raptors win under a quarter of the games they’d played, stands as the worst month. The Raptors, going into their Tuesday Eastern Time game against the Chicago Bulls at the United Center. have struggled just to stay within striking distance of a play-in spot and will no doubt and yet another month having won fewer than half the games they’ll have ended up playing.

  3. The sens best players aren’t interested in doing what it takes to win. They got their 8 year deals & just wanna do their skill sessions & go home. Berube would have them all crying & whining.
