In today’s video I give my arguments as to why I think the #oilers could finish first place in the Pacific Division. I also give my arguments as to why I think the #canucks may continue to stay on top!

  1. If the standings went by wins and you eliminated ot points they’d have a guenuine chance. But between ot points being a problem and the pacific division always seemingly having a juggernaut every year it seems impossible to ever win this division. I mean 29-16 is an incredible record but our lack of OT Ls keep us down.

  2. I genuinely believe if the oilers played the way they are now from the very beginning, we'd see completely different results.
I could honestly see the oilers being not only the pacific winner BUT within the top 3 teams in the NHL overall.
We'll see how the end of the seaaon looks but all that effort means nothing if they don't get the cup so I'd rather they save as much energy to make a solid playoff run.

  3. It would be nice to win the pacific pennant considering that we have the longest drought for a divisional title in all of pro sports. However we’d have to sweep March and April and Vancouver would have to start losing more than occasionally and the odds of either of those happening are vanishingly slim. Sorry to be negative but it’s more likely Oilers performance starts to regress to a mean and that means finding ourselves back in a wild card spot by the end of the year. And if we start streaking in the opposite direction? I don’t even want to think about it.

  4. Just as a little tip – if you are talking about stats, standings etc its always nice if you put them on screenn while you are reading them. Its just easier to follow what you are saying <3 <3 <3

  5. Personally I don't think it will happen or care just keep winning as much as possible & get in the playoffs and take care of business. The Cup or bust. Also I think a ABC attitude will mean Anybody But Canucks. Too many of their fans turn me off for ever rooting for them. Beside's they really aren't Canada's team because they have the least amount of Canadian players in their lineups most game nights.

  6. If you've watched the Nucks, phantom penalties at GM Place have been happening for about 20 years. Jacques Lemaire famously wondered how they ever lose at home. Now they have the PP to take advantage. But their shooting percentage is unsustainable.

  7. The Oilers have to play 4 more games than the Canucks. Fatigue, depth is an advantage for the Canucks. The Oilers will have less days off tk rest between games.
I think the Oilers have a chance at winning the division. Especially if they start 4-0 after the all-star break
