  1. I think that Reddit comment about that minor league coach habitually playing D-men at forward pestering Boudreau to play a D-man at forward makes the most sense to the the culprit. Being the minor league coach, or maybe even promoted to an assistant coach at the NHL level would put him in a position to pester, but also Bruce could still easily just ignore him. If it was the owner or someone higher up in the management structure, they could order Bruce to do it and BB may not have been able to say no. So coming from above Bruce in the org makes less sense then coming from below him, and from someone with a history of pulling that crap even more so.

I don't think Bruce is petty enough to lie about something like that, and by the sounds of it, that Cull guy responsible for this nonsense was fired, by the new management team, so maybe that was a contributing factor?

  2. We had Miller, Pettersson, and Horvat at C. A depleted defense, this makes no sense. I really like(d) Bruce, but some things are better left unsaid. He also claimed all the players were crying when he was let go. Bruce gets 2 minutes for embellishment!

  3. Bruce would have you believe this guy wanted Hughes at centre when we already had Miller, Petey and Horvat there. So would Hughes have been our 4C? it doesn't make sense. I think Bruce has a bit of sour grapes directed at the team.

  4. A flippant comment made off the cuff? Would love to see the context in which BB saod this rather than relying on sensational "newsmakers" reports.

  5. Sounds a lot like something
someone in a Vancouver franchise would want to do. Next thing you know they'd want to make Demko the captain..

  6. Who really cares Bruce! Look, I liked Bruce as a person and I know he got a raw deal in the process of getting let go…..but this team was absolutely rudderless last year! Night and day to what Boudreau was doing compared to the coaches now.
The Canucks were so bad under Boudreau that maybe it was suggested in context because nothing worked right on this team last year so why not try Hughes at centre for a few shifts…..they were so bad anyways so nothing to lose!
Just weird why Boudreau said this was eating at him for the last yeah that he had to tell the world!

Who cares if someone wanted to try him at forward? Did they say the same thing when they made forward Brent Burns a defenseman when he was drafted and played as a forward at the start of his pro career lol?
Sour apples on Boudreaus part and made it a bigger deal than it was.
