Not gonna lie his defensive play this year is giving me Risto vibes. No idea what the hell is going on.
Entry denial is easily the most glaring issue with this team at 5v5. We must be last in the league. The amount of basic 3v2 entries where we backpedal are astonishing.
Although it’s on Dahlin’s card here, I believe it has to do with how our centers are coached to defend the puck carrier in the neutral zone.
We have our center usually flyby with speed to try to strip (I think?) instead of cut-off defense that denies zone entry.
