  3. I only want Pettersson bad at an affordable price. Obviously, he's going to get a lot of money, but the last thing I want to see is a situation like Toronto, where you have a great regular season team, but because there's very little depth, all teams have to do in the playoffs is shut down the usual suspects. The Canucks have gotten great secondary scoring, but we're talking about the next potentially 6-8 years on a long term deal and even if the Cap goes up substantially, they still have OEL's recapture penalty to worry about and resigning some of the guys who have provided economical contributions thus far, as well as Hronek, who will want big money, replacing Myers and potentially Zadorov if he wants too much money. It gets dicey next year, and I'd rather they assess what Pettersson wants sooner rather than later, make a decision, sign or trade, and go with it quickly.

  5. Good vid. Agree that the current management was instrumental (obviously) in poaching a lot of great talent from the flightless birds.

I still don't like the long term suffering from the OEL buyout.. but can't deny that it was a key move at the time to free up resources for the team we have now. Probably none of us really have the full details with what was going on and why it needed to happen like that.

As a Vancouver fan, it is a weird feeling to have such faith in the management… lol

  6. what about that time Vancouver ranked 32nd before Seatle even had a team yet?
    or was that Ottawa?

  7. Congratulations.
At the 2024 All Star break,
VC is in first place in the NHL.
They beat out Boston, same points percentage, based on more regulation wins.
    30 vs 25.
In fact, VC is the first and only team to get to 30 RW.
VC also leads the NHL in MY Over 500.
    Regulation wins minus regulation losses.
A slightly higher standard than THG's all wins minus all losses.
And Gary's all wins minus regulation losses.

I will of course delete this post before the games renew post All Star Break, to prevent any bad luck to VC for the rest of the 2024 season.

(Does that work? Cancel cancel cancel spin around three times???)
