Not a lot of hockey media guys are willing to talk that much about analytics. Which is too bad, because they tell a huge part of the story this year. You pointed out how good the offensive and defensive numbers were, but they become even more meaningful when you look at the night-and-day improvement in goaltending numbers. Given that stark contrast, it's borderline insane that people are insisting that the Oilers' team play has dramatically improved.
