Wow, I'm pretty shocked this wasn't in your 6-10. I feel like it fits the bill for "has nothing to do with hockey". I'd pretty strongly disagree on "it wasn't malicious"… not sure what else he is trying to do throwing his shoulder high and backward like that. I didn't see the context of the game, but just a really dumb play. I figured the NHL would do 3-5, but you're normally higher.
I think the most surprising thing out of all of this… Gally has never been suspended, and fined only 1 time in his career. That's wild given his reputation, even though I love the guy
I usually agree with you but not this time. This was a malicious dirty play. At the very least, he should have had an in-person hearing and a longer suspension. There is no place in hockey for that type of play. Gallagher's biggest mistake was thinking he was hockey royalty like the dirty Tkachuk brothers whom the NHL refuses to punish appropriately for their actions.

Yeah good summation of the play. Elbow came up after the contact. He was trying to go shoulder to chest but with very little chance of success
Hit reminded me of the stuff Raffi Torres used to pull.
I think this is the first time that you and the NHL came up with the same length of suspension! What a time to be alive. Hope they keep it up!
