  1. Now what would be hilarious is if we traded for Subban’s last contract year and Weber plays with in the playoffs.

  2. Mostly agree with you, but still. Sub ban provided offense, where Webber provided pretty much the same offense, and tons of defense and leadership. Preds didn’t die from this trade, but I still think the Habs DEFINATELY won it hands down. Webber has been a beast for the habs

  3. subbans contract has NEGATIVE value. webers? pile of gold to someone like toronto, tampa, NASHVILLE hahahah
webers reputation has only ever grown, PKs has declined every moment after missing traning camp.
sorry gio. disagree. mtl won the trade. nashville hasnt lost it, and been burnt. yet.

  4. I will never understand the Weber love around the forums. The guy is just awful. Except for that hard shot from the point he does nothing. Finally in game 4 of the SC Finals he had a good game. Think about that. Five years in Montreal, one game that he actually did what people expected from him. Can't skate. Can't make a stretch pass. Can't stick handle. Loses the puck easily. Want to replace Weber for the next season, put a sweater on a pylon.

  5. Actually it is Montreal that won the trade, if Weber has to retire it is Nashville that is on the hook for the cap recovery due to the contract he was signed to. This reduces the amount of cap space the Preds have for the next few years thus effectively preventing them from signing any future players to contracts

  6. Team success is all that matters, I like Weber as a player but the team success is not what Marc Bergevin said it would be by acquiring Weber! 18th, 24th,14th, 28th is not team success, And the numbers of Weber and Subban don't indicate this also, Subban has had more points played more games then Weber, Weber has had a better plus, Minus then Subban. The one thing after 5 year is the Habs still don't have a puck moving defenseman, Weber never provide this as a Habs, Part of the reason we have been a fringe team the last four years, Going on a Cinderella run after barley making the playoffs is not team success, Being a joke during the reg season is not team success.

  7. I would say that the Habs won the trade. If you look just at the stats, i think Weber is a little bit above Subban, and for those that want to argue lets say at least, defensively, Weber is a clear winner. But what the stats doesn't say its,s the value Weber brought to the Canadian, stability and leadership. On the other side you got Subban, spectacular but man he play for himself, not his team. One was a player that will make his teammates look better, and the other one, a guy that quickly become a poison for his team.

  8. For all this thinking Webber will be back for playoffs. He won’t. They can’t officially announce retirement or anything of the matter until training camp starts.
