Selling low on Kakko when he’s a cost-controlled RFA RW doesn’t make a lick of sense to me. We don’t have cap space or RWs to spare.

It would have to be a huge overpay or part of a huge deal for a game changer RW to be reasonable. Paying the price to get Lindholm only to put him at 3C with PP2 time wouldn’t make any sense either.

I’m ok to part with Kakko for the right price.

I don’t see any package or player that Kakko could bring in to be worth his price that can fit under our cap

This is a real bummer. I was looking forward to watching Drury fix the teams 5v5 scoring by trading one guy that doesn’t score at even strength for a more expensive guy that doesn’t score at even strength. I guess we’ll just have to settle for an overpaid veteran that was good five years ago instead.

Kakko isn’t worth anything so I doubt he’d be a part of trade anyway

  5. If we are gonna part with anyone young at this point, you trade Miller. Dude has regressed hard over the last 1-1.5 years. He is a defensive liability looks lost when he has the puck.

Kakko literally put up 37 even strength points. You know who that was near last year???? Tavares, marchessault, hertl, quinn hughes, dahlin, kaprisov, huberdeau, adam fox, boeser, pld, svechnikov, zucc, bergeron, marchand, seguin, kuznetsov, reinhart, all had the same or less than 5 points more than kakko.

Kakko had more ES points last year than makar, laine, debrincat, kane, tarasenko, josi, fowler, jenner, kreider, barzal, pageau

But yea lets trade him because mika and kreider were useless and couldnt finish. Also his 18 ES goals last year were more than a bunch of players from both lists above. So instead of letting him sit with mika and kreider until the lines offensive stats have positive regression, kakko keeps remaining the scapegoat

I thought I saw Weeksy in EWR earlier when I was heading towards security. Dude is taller than I expected.

  7. Has anyone else ever thought about how stupid and useless a sports insiders job is? Working their connections and hustling in an airport like they’re about to blow the lid off the deepthroat scandal, all so they can be 6 minutes faster than the next asshole to tell us what’s going to be announced formally by the teams the next day.
