Looks like McLeod was Player #1 if I understand the charges correctly.
The one who texted 4+ other professional male athletes to come to his room to have sex with a woman who they just met who had been drinking with them that night.
The one who texted her telling her to go to the police and withdraw her accusations because they were a “mistake”.
I know this sub has a surprisingly large number of people who, for some reason, DESPERATELY want to defend this, so I’m not going to go on another rant… But jesus fucking christ dude.

How they didn’t think this would affect their future is beyond me… next question is who was the guy in the suit (presumably from HC) who was plying the victim with alcohol and pressured her to meet players. Just as much as a problem as the players IMO.

Well fuck, when they all took leave last week I felt nothing because I heard about this years ago and had been waiting for the shoe to drop while keeping distance from cheering on McLeod.
But this news comes as a shock and a punch to the gut, to know that someone who is potentially that extra dose of vile is connected to something you love.
In my experience, of which I have a fair amount, some conclusions I’ve drawn:
– having such a lengthy investigation that’s concluded after several years in several arrests tells me there is fairly strong evidence to charge them with the actual offenses, and not just circumstantial cause
– this evidence will likely result in fairly strong prosecutions for the crown
– McLeod orchestrated the event and also assaulted her
– some sort of physical, non-testimonial evidence probably exists outside of text messages
– entirely speculation: if I had to guess, one of these players will get a commuted sentence in return of the rest of them getting convicted
– scumbags
