14:00 Habs & Oilers Trade ?
I don't see Montreal trading Primeaux either…
That Habs/Oilers trade suggestion is not going anywhere & it makes no sense either.
Habs and Oilers trade opinion: Montreal can try and revive Campbell's career to trade him again with salary retained, and if he fails, it will be a cheaper buy out than Gallagher's contract. A late round first, and a shot in the dark prospect with Bourgault.
Edmonton gets Gallagher who can flip between 4th line, and 2nd line for Edmonton. Primeau is a cheap backup option for the next 2 years, if it fails they can try and sneak him through the waiver wire, and Norlinder will be some security in case of injury who can be sent to the minors without waivers.
Edit: Edmonton will have a couple million dollars of cap relief if they wish to make another signing/trade
That trade deal between Montreal and Edmonton sounds awful for both sides. Gallagher is basically untradeable. At least with Campbell he might be able to be redeemed by the Oilers. Still I see the reason behind this. Give two bad contracts and trade them between teams. Montreal can stomach the cap hit at least but I just think Montreal having to carry Campbell's contract is pretty bad as well and they would still be stuck with 3 goaltenders. Seems like a poison pill for both teams.
Lol don’t worry about if the Oilers make this trade, the Habs would laugh at this trade. This pathetic trade isn’t even worth talking about let alone making a video on it lol 😂
Obviously the Oilers wouldn’t want Gallagher! That goes without saying. But if the Habs are taking Campbell then taking a contract back like Gallagher would be a must. Gallagher would be a decent 4th liner on the Oilers in the playoffs. Campbell on the other hand wouldn’t even be playable
Thanks for the great report Mike!
Re: Monahan trade & Habs: with the Lindholm trade to the Canucks for what Canucks gave up the BIG WINNER in all this is definitely Kent Hughes!! He must be thrilled at what the Canucks were willing to move to get Lindholm because he knows that if the remaining contenders in need of a "C" for a serious deep playoff run want Monahan they will need to pay up even if Habs retain some salary. Habs will score big on this trade. AND….they are doing Monahan a solid too by sending him to a contender as they apparently promised they would do by the trade deadline. AND….if all this isn't enough….maybe….just maybe Habs can re-sign Monahan after his rental experience is done!!! Holy crap!!!! Can you imagine that possibility…😊
Boooyyyyaaahh!!!!
Go Habs!!!!!
Re: Habs/Oilers trade: not gonna happen.
Ghallager is a gritty player in the playoffs. Its what you want to swarmt he net
Talbot (and his agent) would go ballistic if Fleury takes his job again.
Thought Edmonton wanted Eberle
These videos are a joke
If I was Montreal I would avoid making a trade with Edmonton I don’t see the assets
If Mtl retains part of the Gallagher contract I could see it happening.
Should get a first without retaining any salary on Monahan save the retention spot on another piece like Savard or Person
The Oilers are thinking they need a better goaltender, Canucks will light Skinner up like a Christmas tree
Canuck need to stop improving 😄🇨🇦
the last thing the oilers need is monahan or anything out of quebec
This kinda stuff hurts the sport 🌐
Any good news here🌐
Hope this gets sorted out soon 🇨🇦
montreal may be a rebuilding team, but they do have a 5 star medical staff. guarantee Monahan is coming out of montreal a whole lot healthier than he arrived. he will definitely be a huge benefit to a contending team.
Monahan is a powerplay specialist. He's unlikely to get a return close to Lindholm because he's terrible on the defensive side of the puck. You win in the playoffs with defense and Monahan just doesn't play well enough in his own end to be a big contributor in the post season.
On the oilershabs trade no, no,no,no and a hundred more no's from the oilers
Oilers don't need Gallagher. He is just a pylon and we already have Connor Brown. How many pylons do you want on the ice? lol .
why give up first round picks to montreal for average goalies, and sometimes they are not even that..go with what you have
Gallagher is an Edmonton native, isn't he? I think his father was a strength and conditioning coach there, at one time. That elbow was his way of saying "get me out of Montreal". It likely will. He was a Bergeron guy, with his buddies Weber and Price. He quit once those three left. You can see him purposely screwing up to force a trade or buyout. This deal would be a bit of both.
I'd say Allen is more likely to go with him, than Ptimeau. Retaining half of Gallagher's money, plus Allen would offset Campbell's money. Montreal doesn't want Bourgeault, they have a better version of him in the AHL in Joshua Roy. Roy has about triple the production of Bourgeault so far this season, he is nearly a year younger, and a better two way player. They would want Caufield's old college linemate, Dylan Holloway, I think. They like speed and size.
Could be Josh Anderson in lieu of Gallagher though not as bad a contract whereas Campbell's and Gally's even out.
Gallagher is from Edmonton…he would immediately become a fan favorite.👍🏼🇨🇦
80% of the rumors on this channel are oilers/Canadians and yet they haven't made a trade together since 2015. It's not ever going to happen dude.
Lindholm is a great plan B for the Canucks if Petersen decides he doesn’t want to sign long term this summer
Mtl Edm deal is senseless. Mtl Trading a bad contract, young goalie, young player for an even worse goalie contract, a low first round pick which most likely won't amount to much in at least 4 years and a young potential prospect…stay away. At least Gallagher with some money retained next year can be unloaded to a team who needs a 3rd line gritty winger for playoffs
Great Video, as usual. I don't think that trade works, except for it being conditioned on the Gallagher Acquisition. For the reason, I don't know, unless The Edmonton Oilers want A Veteran Presence in the locker room, but, he might make A Decent Bottom 6 Player. Let me know what you think.
