Smith hit on Bedard – Have your say!

Brendan Smith hit Connor Bedard weaving up the middle of the slot. Bedard immediately grabbed his face, got up, and slowly went to his bench. He ended up leaving the game. Smith ended up having to fight over the hit. There was no call on the play. Was it really clean? Have your say!

  1. Clean hit, but still think it's the proper response by CHI. Foligno stole 4mil for this very reason.

  2. 0.5 Troubas out of 5. Definitely stayed high for a reason. But I've seen far worse this season also uncalled…

  3. It’s not only clean it’s downright polite. Bedard could have been severely concussed if Smith would have committed to that hit. Bedard should consider it a valuable hockey lesson.

  4. Clean as a whistle. If any player wants to cut through the middle of the ice, do so at your own risk. Bedard needs to learn

  5. Part of the violence of the collision, if there is any, is that Bedard skates in wildly out of control. There are reasons the NHL is harder to play in than the minors, and part is that you can’t just skate in, around everybody, recklessly, and expect people to just stand around and watch you.

  6. If this is a penalty then I don’t know what defense are supposed to do to stop a player coming down middle. It’s like people want defense just to be pylons with sticks and let people skate by untouched

  7. It’s a clean hit wasn’t anything about it illegal.. Bedard needs to get his head up.. bedard basically runs into the check lol😂

  8. not a tough call at all. he just stood him up. perfectly clean. i like Bedard, this was just bad luck.

  9. As a chicagoin, the only people calling this dirty are the complete brain dead homers or new fans who stopped watching after the cups and started when bedard got picked up. They love their city, not hockey.

Sucks though cuz it’s no fun to watch without him- broadcast team will be napping and talking about stolen Doritos instead until he’s back.
