  1. If Yzie and Detroit don't use this situation for taking on cap for 1-2 seasons for prospects and picks I'm gonna be in fumes. This is the perfect scenario for Detroit with 34 mil in cap space with Mantha and Bert as significant expirees. So let's say we spend 19 mil at keeping a bunch of guys under contract. Then we will still have 15 mil in cap space. Please Yzie, please capitalize on other teams misery

  2. Rangers rolling up with a back loaded barzal offersheet with Staal, Smith, Lundqvist, Shattenkirk big cap hits gone after this next season, because why not

  3. Interesting and strange days
For Avs they can sign Graves and Burikovski
And still have money this year for an expensive bridge deal
D core if u add BothTimmons and Byrom there is even more money as you say goodbye to two guys ..zads cole ej?
I honestly could see them passing on a forward like Hall, and adding defense like Petro
    9.5 for 4??
They gain cap space!! Cole zads and ej at wat?? Off top of my head its over 13 million for those three
    Cole ej and Zads!!
    Do the math
    At least the money works
As far as avs losing ej most people dont see that
    But???

  4. I can see Buffalo and Ottawa go for the throats and offer sheet to the gills while stacking the deck and bring up the kids while taking on high value, low pay players on short "show me" contracts just to get out of the basement instantly and make a big difference in 2021's shortened year. All back to back games in the season, so Vet's will get tired and kids will thrive while getting paid less on "show me" contracts. Just a thought of what I'm predicting the basement teams will pull off using COVID contracts as a massive advantage. Cheers Shan, you're awesome… keep it up brother

  5. The avs could throw 8-9 million at petro for a one or two year deal to try and win now if that’s something he wanted to do

  6. The Wings could throw whatever Alex wants at him.. that's if he's willing to play for a dog shit team Holland ran into the ground. I'd rather have him over Krug. Although Krug is from my hometown so maybe that could convince him to actually play there lol

  7. I agree…expect chaos, not just because of teams with little cap space, but also all of the teams who may have internal caps even lower than the NHL cap.

  8. Habs fan here! Watching Mcann and Kuebel play my team Kuebel was actually more annoying and impactful for Philly then Mcann was for the Pens

  9. Off topic question: What does your wife think of your black wedding ring? I too have a black wedding ring and my wife isn't too keen…

  10. Next season I bet we see more than usual retirees. Going to be a real young league to cut costs. It's sad 'cause I think a lot of teams won't be able to fiscally compete as usual. So, parity will probably suffer too.

  11. One huge factor that I don't think anyone is talking about: a lot of what teams are able to pay will depend not on the cap space situation but on real money. And how much real money is going to be around if they're playing in front of empty arenas? Are teams going to be cash-strapped regardless of the cap? I don't see how it could be any other way.
