Habs asset management A+. Taking a guy Calgary didn't want to pay and get a 1st also give up nothing in return used him for 2 seasons trade him and get another 1st and a 3rd conditional. Wow good work.
Treleving missed another chance to pick up a good two way forward. The peg just took a big step for a good run.
I’d have preferred Lindhom but Monahan will definitely help and you can’t argue with the price difference.

Well….mixed emotions on this trade. I love Monahan and his contributions to Les Habs…the ultimate pro and team player. The Jets are getting a great team player and finally healthy Sean Monahan who is an excellent "C" and great on face offs.
Habs are getting another 1st round draft pick plus a conditional 3rd round pick. Way to go Kent Hughes.
As I said in one of your earlier blogs Mike….the icing on the cake is if Monahan decides to re-sign with Habs once his time in Winnipeg is done. Now wouldn't that be awesome.

Smart move by Montreal.A first and a third is an excellent return.Montreal could also move those picks to shorten the rebuild,that they acquired.A retool in Montreal not a full rebuild is needed.

A decent trade if Monahan stays healthy. My concern is we now have two(2) centers that are injury prone. First round pick I thought was a little much! We'll see!

Did not expect this…don't really see the jets needing a center…think they should of targeted a defnsemen here. I like the fit though but I'm worried with his injury history because jets do Play a pretty heavy game.
