Kudos on Allvin & Rutherford for jumping the gun on the trade market and getting Lindholm before the market thinned out.

Given the choice of Lindholm or Monahan, I’m happy with Lindholm. Monahan is definitely a consolation prize… I’m glad Allvin took the initiative.

  2. Monahan went for a 1st… are people still crying about what we gave up lmao?

Interesting. I guess moving Kuzmenko’s contract and Lindholm being better had a cost (prospect) to it.

  4. The top 2 names off the board this could be a boring trade deadline.

Part of the win of the Lindholm trade is that nobody else gets him

How the fuck do the Habs keep Mickey Mousing their way into getting first round picks at the deadline

  7. ragger_lord

    For a first.

And people still think we gave up too much for Lindholm

Nice to be the team setting off the reactionary moves and not “running out of time” doing nothing

How much is this Winnipeg reacting to Canucks loading up with Lindholm?

Imagine that, a group of people at the top who want to be proactive, and get their guy. Rutherford wanted Lindholm, so instead of calling up Calgary at 09:00 on trade deadline day, he called now and got his guy. So gods damned refreshing to have a management group that actually manages.

  11. You’re welcome Habs. If there’s anyone I can trust to botch drafting a first round pick, it’s Montreal.

    Holy shit. First for Monahan.

I’m way happier now what we gave up for Lindy.

I thought Monahan would be a second or decent prospect.

How did Monaghan fetch a first round pick and a conditional third, i guess this makes it a little better for what we paid for lindholm

  14. So we basically gave up damaged goods in Kuzmenko, a long-shot prospect in Jurmo, and a conditional 4th to upgrade from Monahan to Lindholm

  15. It’s like George Costanza doing the opposite of the the last regime

  16. cowfromjurassicpark

Honestly the only big difference between Lindholm and Monahan was a good prospect & another meh prospect. Aging like wine rn

A first for Monahan seems nuts to me. He’s a solid third liner on a good team, but that’s it.

i would rather have lindy than monohan. haven’t watched montreal this season, but when he was on calgary i remember him for being slow af.

they sold high on hunter, and jurmo and a 4th are definitely sweeteners that don’t hurt the canucks too much.

Monahan isn’t worth a first. Dude’s being given free reign in tire fire montreal. I’m so glad we paid what we did for Lindholm vs settling for scraps like this.

  20. Very happy that Allvin but the bullet and paid for Lindholm generously and fast to prevent Calgary from shopping him around

  21. The Habs getting 2 firsts out for Monahan is insane.

  22. parsnip_grove

This is how you run a hockey team, being proactive. Not “running out of time”

  23. nite_awol

Boring monahan doesn’t move the needle for any team not to mention slow af.
