  1. Last series, Letang was crosschecked in the back of the head against the boards by Callahan and the league didn't bat an eyelash. I'm not waiting for a hearing on a headshot ever again after that. Someone will have to pass out mid-air and break their nose on the ice for the league to take notice. It needs a metaphoric "Ray Rice tape" of its own to realize they need to be careful about how the organization is run.

  2. Is rust ok though? he's not injured right?
As a penguins fan, i dont think there would be any suspension for a hit like this but if there was a suspension, 1 game

  3. When will the league be serious about head shots (as in tolerating none)?

Can't wait see to see them in court eventually.

  4. That was not really that bad at all. Plus Marleau doesn't have any kind of history of dirty hits so get over it Pens fans.

  5. watch at .30 a couple times, initial contact was made by marleaus hip into rust's bicep, which made his head snap into marleaus shoulder which at the same time marleau was following through on the hit, looks bad but was not intentionally done by marleau, If you disagree then talk to the league because they didn't suspend him or fine him.

  6. Yeah – can't skate with your head down and expect the other players to part like the Red Sea. btw Rust whiffed on back-handing the puck (0:29) and was trying to fore-hand it when he gets hit. And about two seconds later Kunitz does the same hit on Dillon.

  7. i don't understand how nobody sees that he quite clearly elbows Rust in the chin. Its very clear to me that is what happened. I've elbowed a few chins. the reason you don't see his elbow out is because it was busy hitting Rusts chin. I expect this crap from the league but thought Marleau was a bit more classy.

  8. If it's a straight ahead "North-South" hit the head can be hit first. This hit is questionable as to whether it was North-South or not. Many fans are still confused about this rule till this very day. The hits that they are trying to eliminate are the blindsided "East-West" hits where the player can't see you coming and the head is hit first.

  9. Clean hit.

Calling 2min for interference was a mistake. This isn't interference, he was relevant to the puck.

Rust should learn to keep his head up. Can't assume opponents will babysit you in every turn.
