Man, we have ourselves so much Vancouver Canucks stuff to go over that I’m genuinely surprised this video turned out being as long as it is. We’re still talking about Oliver Ekman-Larsson, the Arizona Coyotes Captain, but we’re also talking about Troy Stecher maybe being involved in these talks, as well as the Canucks continuing desire to trade away Loui Eriksson and Brandon Sutter.

This all comes after the Canucks were eliminated from the 2020 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

The 2020 Stanley Cup Playoffs involved sixteen teams, which were the Boston Bruins, Tampa Bay Lightning, Washington Capitals, Philadelphia Flyers, Montreal Canadiens, Carolina Hurricanes, New York Islanders, and Columbus Blue Jackets in the East, and the Colorado Avalanche, St. Louis Blues, Vegas Golden Knights, Vancouver Canucks, Calgary Flames, Chicago Blackhawks, Arizona Coyotes, and Dallas Stars in the West.

The Tampa Bay Lightning defeated the Dallas Stars in the 2020 Stanley Cup Finals in Game 6 to win the 2020 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

The Vegas Golden Knights got eliminated by the Dallas Stars in the Western Conference Finals in Game 5, and the New York Islanders were eliminated by the Tampa Bay Lightning in Game 6.

Of the Conference Semi-Final matchups, the Boston Bruins, Colorado Avalanche, Vancouver Canucks, and Philadelphia Flyers have been eliminated.

The eliminated teams of the 2020 NHL Playoffs from the qualifying play-in series are the Edmonton Oilers, Winnipeg Jets, Nashville Predators, Minnesota Wild, Pittsburgh Penguins, New York Rangers, Toronto Maple Leafs, and the Florida Panthers.

Teams eliminated from the first round of the 2020 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs are the St. Louis Blues, Calgary Flames, Arizona Coyotes, Chicago Blackhawks, Columbus Blue Jackets, Montreal Canadiens, Carolina Hurricanes, and the Washington Capitals.

This also makes for what’s looking to be an entertaining 2020 NHL Entry Draft.

The current NHL rankings for the 2020 NHL Draft go as follows:

  1. They said they did not want to take more salary, they said they didn’t want to get rid of draft picks and they said they wanted to get younger, LIESSSSSSS

  2. Louie Eriksson Brandon Sutter Sven Bärstchi Jake Virtanen and Troy Stecher for OEL 😂😂😂😂

  3. Interesting, as the news, or lack of it, is just crickets at the moment! So it's just nonstop speculation because Jim hasn't done a thing, and if I was a betting man, I'd say that there won't be much to mull over before the Canucks pick 81st in the 3rd round. Do I sound bitter? Well, Jim hasn't given me any reason to be optimistic, so I will play the 'worst case scenario' card, because…….well it's because it's the Canucks.

  4. Arizona is kind of hand-cuffed just like the Kesler situation.
We may end up with a good deal.
All I can say is if we're moving a 2021 1st, or a solid prospect for this guy, they better be retaining some of that salary and/or taking Eriksson.

  5. If Louie is part of trade n you let edler walk after his contract. Maybe this trade could work. But that term is so scary. I think tanev should play with his brother. Once in a lifetime chance there. So if that happens troy will need to be signed

  6. Salary retention is a must. But az doesnt wanna do that. We need a d or a two way forward who can contain the puck and keep that shot on net below 40 my god. It was painful to watch this playoffs

  7. 8.25 mill cap hit over 7 years!? Might as well sign a UFA for cheaper or offer sheet someone younger if theyre going to lose draft picks anyway. Almost 30 years old, he won't be worth it. The reality is this is a flat cap situation and the Canucks don't want to be having cap problems forever especially with the young core that are going to be need to be re-signed too, eventually, all within 7 years. Why do you think Arizona wants to trade Ekman Larsson if he's such a great player? Well a move toward youth is one reason but also they know that his contract is going to be problematic and he's going to be harder and harder to move the older he gets. Sound familiar Canucks?!

  8. The way Vancouver drafts AZ would be best off letting Van make the pick then trading for who ever Van drafts especially looking at how AZ drafts

  9. OEL is a good player but his contract is terrible. Brutal. So many things can go wrong here

  10. Didnt Dillon nix a trade to Vancouver when he was in SJ? Why want to come now? Sure the team is good sure he's a home town boy but if you didn't want to come here a while back we really don't care if you want to come now

  11. vancouver needs to not take any big contracts rn lol they have too many pending rfas after next season (demko, pettersson)

  12. OEL is only worth it if Arizona knocks his aav cap hit to about $6-6.2mil/yr. 7-yrs on a 29-yr old is super risky. If we’re paying $8.25mil/yr on a good dman, we might as well go up to $9mil and take a run at pietrangelo. At least we don’t have to give up a boatload of assets to acquire him. 🙄

  13. MMMM Shades of Roberto comes to mind. Then there is Loui. 29 huh. 8 years. Over 8 mil. per. Lucky to get two good years. I kind of like Dumba better. Better fit. There is 2 guys on Tampa or on Colorado. Big young guys with some potential. I think getting a veteran, get an older guy who can still play on short contract to basically mentor young guys. Unless there is a rebuild in the near future. Actually it is a terrible idea. They need bangers. Jake with fight in him. Or Meyers when going berserk. The Canucks need some speed with violence.

  14. Another article says Juolevi, 1st 2021 and Eriksson. This would be what in Benning eyes sees as a hockey trade. Even though Eriksson is clearing a salary dump and has a negative value in this trade. Nonetheless, he won’t do the deal unless it’s Eriksson. So be it.
