Islanders coach Patrick Roy laments missed early opportunities in OT loss to Panthers | SNY

In this Islanders post game news conference, head coach Patrick Roy was happy with his team’s first period but felt they missed several good scoring opportunities in a game the Islanders would eventually lose in overtime to Florida 3-2. Roy: “I mean, if, if we could have just scored here and there, it would have been, you know, a different game.” Despite the loss, he does like his squad’s progression saying, “we were a long way and I think we’re getting closer to where we want to be.”

  1. He really surprises me. He has definitely changed for the good. Way to go Pat. As I said; PAT IS BACK (c). Time to go on a hockey trip to NY.

  2. He really knows the game inside out, knows what it takes for the team to play consistently well. I like to think that his AMAZING work with the Remparts in Québec City has given him an incredible knowledge on how to improve a team with very practical advice, being straight to the point with the players – hopefully still direct :)- , and on how to stimulate everybody. And personally, I still wants to se his Fire behind the bench. He is no 'chicken', not to say that he is a Tiger (!), and the league needs to know it. He deserves all the success.
