We’ll give a brief update on the situation with Dillon Dube, Carter Hart, Michael McLeod, Cal Foote and Alex Formenton along with the Team Canada allegations.
Definitely don't see how the Flames did something wrong unless there's something I haven't heard. All they did was grant a player leave. Also whether you want to wait for all the court procedures to finish or not before making opinions, it seems asinine to consider this anything other than mental health. He didn't get arrested first forcing him to leave and he didn't get injured, so I guess people wanted him to state it was for personal matters. But personally I think if he's innocent this is taking a mental toll, if he's guilty he either was mentally unwell prior to committing the crime or has now come to realize his guilt and that would also take a mental toll (though not one deserving much if any empathy)
This is so silly…People actually think Cgy knew everything and still said it was Mental health? It is much more likely Dillon went to a medical pro with Mental health and Cgy put out a statement, It is just silly imo to think Cgy knew everything and still said he was under the care of health pro's…
For those who are unfamiliar, NHL consequences lie in the absolute power of the Commissioner, they include – Suspension/expulsion for a definite/indefinite period of time – Cancellation of a player contract – Large fine to the player Teams can also suspend them, place them on unpaid leave, or terminate their contract Also most likely that the players are released on undertakings with only no-contact orders with the victim. While this bars them from entering the USA, it is unclear at this time, at least to the general public, if they were ordered to surrender their passports, preventing them from continuing abroad until trial, which could take until 2026. A passport may be confiscated if they believe that the accused poses a flight risk, is unlikely to show up to court, or is likely to commit crimes while abroad, among other factors.
For those who are unaware of the USA criminal inadmissibility system, it was overhauled after 9/11 and the creation of the Department of Homeland Security. The only way to skirt around this is applying for a US Entry Waiver, which is very time-consuming and can cost upwards of nearly a thousand dollars. The exact working definition of crimes constituting moral turpitude is… …contentious
Crazy how the Senators were the only team who took action against allegations immediately. I’m guessing that these hockey clubs knew more about this than the general public but wanted to keep them just in case it didn’t get acted upon… pretty damn shameful from the 4 hockey clubs
The New Jersey Devils, the Ottawa Senators, the Calgary Flames and the Philadelphia Flyers ALL HIRED PLAYERS THEY KNEW HAD SEXUALLY ASSAULTED a young woman and let them play FOR FIVE YEARS. No one pays someone millions of dollars without investigating their background. Why has there been no scrutiny of their willingness to overlook those players history? Also, news releases have started scrubbing the names of the teams who hired the players that Hockey Canada paid out settlements on. Clearly they are still trying to limit damage on this story. Let's have some talk about that.
Interesting that McLeod, Dube, Foote and Hart have their contracts run out this summer. I wonder if the NHL applied pressure to hold off on the charges until now so that all four would be off the books when the trial rolls around.
Flames have no blame here, as far as we are aware now. I really hate when something like this happens and people have to spread around the responsibility to anyone who comes into to contact with the accused. Everyone put the pitchforks down, remember that these guys are INNOCENT until PROVEN guilty. The system seems to be working, let it do its thing.
I just like poking fun of the Kane haters. You never know what scumbags you have playing on your own teams, folks.
…and Kane has not even been charged of anything, let alone convicted. Yet, people still sling mud at him and compare him to these clowns who have been charged with sexual assault 😂
Can u cover the wings/sens overtime today? I feel it summed up about everything wrong with 3 on 3 and how new rules should be in place to prevent pug dragging
WHO CARES what is the organization gonna do about it when they have a million other things to deal with. So Dube was a total Jacknob 6 years ago and now he’s gonna pay for it. It’s not anybody else’s problem besides him and the people involved. Drop it

These players have a possibility of never playing in the nhl again pending how this goes. Gonna be wild to see how it unfolds
POLL: should the Flames, Flyers and Devils be fined for their alleged mishandling?

All these 5 Will be charged and sentence to Prison
Hockey Canada is completely Broken and no more longer trustworthy

None of them are guilty. This woman is clearly some gold digger looking for her payday
I guess ottawa senators were at least smart enough to let formenton go before they had to deal with the storm.

All Calgary could've stated was "Dube is leaving citing personal reasons…..not throw mental health under the bus"
Calgary flames r run by dumb people, I’m so sick of year after year of garbage
No draft plans no free agent want to play here, they over pay for washed up goofs
I can’t go to a game, it’s a real joke
The rumor I heard is that there is a video. At least some snippets of a video….And that she look pretty willing in the video.
We'll see.
Remember: Regret does not equal sexual assault. Sometimes those things get mixed up.
What the fuck do people think Dube said to the Flames ownership? "I committed a crime with 4 other people in 2018 after world juniors?"
Also, innocent until proven guilty.
Lindholm to New York
Using mental health as a excuse for getting time off is in poor taste

There are plentiful reasons to be mad at the Calgary organization. This is not one of them. Thanks again for Tkachuk, though!
from 2018? lol go figure its not like we're in 2024 now or anything
I don’t know who some of these athletes think they are. Do you think you are above the law?
Elias Lindholm just got traded to Vancouver 😭😭😭
Team shouldn’t be to blame Dube knew what he did and should have never worn the sweater

AAAAAANNNNDDDD I'M SURE IT WASN'T CONSENSUAL…… typical…….
There better be FULL disclosure, i want hear both sides…… think we will hear that?? Nope me either

Before they're heard in court 🤣. Canada HAS fallen apart. The economy, Healthcare, and judicial systems are DEAD. What a farce.
Over the top and presumptuous there Eck. Get over yourself.
He was probably stressed the fuck out about being charged with a crime.
Who cares what the given reason was.
Probably yet another false complaint that are so common nowadays. Regardless, all the players ARE innocent until PROVEN otherwise.
honestly it’s probably better to say that than the truth on a twitter post on the team account
