I didn't feel that was a bad hit, but when Bedard's on the ice the Blackhawks need a "Gretzky Goon" on the shift too. Bedard probably weighs 10 oz. soaking wet and until his body grows toward mature adulthood, he's going to lose those collisions every time and defensemen know it. Now he has a broken jaw for it and who knows how long he'll be out– and he'll miss the All-Star Game in his hometown on top of it. This is a devastating injury for both Bedard and the Blackhawks. An enforcer or two will help put opponent's heads on a swivel and deter the star freakshow rookie from being blow up. Otherwise, expect more of this on a routine basis when Bedard returns from IR. Just so unfortunate.
