With 2 goals and 3 assists, including the tournament winner for Team Pacific, Arshdeep Bains has been named MVP of the AHL All-Star tournament!

Couldn’t be a better sophomore season for the Surrey kid who will undoubtedly be a top contender to make the big team full time next season.

What a story with the flights and everything. Good on him

LETS GO BAINS!! Would love to see him play a game or two in the nhl haha

Don’t call him up, let him cook like Hogz did last year.

Him and Podz are gonna break into the team next year.

  5. He is gonna sell a ton of jerseys if he makes it.

Funny enough Shakir Mukhmadullin (definitely spelled that wrong) tied it up late.

Crazy how that dudes been traded for Miller, Coleman, and Toffoli before ever playing a single NHL game. That’s a pretty star studded return going the other way in all instances

I know all star games mean nothing but that is great for him still.

I legitimately think this guy has top 6 upside. Not sure if he will ultimately get to that level but I’d be surprised if he doesn’t become at least a solid 3rd liner.

I’m all for calling a couple of these kids up for a game or two at the end of the season, but leave them down otherwise unless absolutely needed.

Genuine question but are AHL all star games more competitive than the NHL ones? I’d assume all these players have a chance of cracking their NHL teams lineup…so perhaps they try a bit harder?

  10. Regardless of how serious these all star games are taken this has got to be huge for his confidence. I can only imagine how it’ll feel for him if one day he plays in a playoff game in front of his hometown crowd.

I love this kid, can’t wait to see him in the big show. He can make up for the lack of Canadians singlehandedly if he becomes a regular. He must be due for a call up at some point this season, especially since his skating hit a new level this year.

Was watching the highlights from the SJ game – he pulled out a sick move in that match that lead directly to a goal. On his stomach on the boards, scrambled to get a puck and flicked it over to the slot where a teammate was waiting for it.
