Parise scored 19 career goals against the Avalanche over 18 NHL seasons.
“Hopefully, it carries over and I can score with them,” Parise said Monday after morning skate. “We played against them a lot, being in their division (with the Wild). It was one of those games where you knew you were playing against a good team. So, you have to be mentally ready. I think players have certain teams they just seem to always score against. These guys were that team for me.”
Parise didn’t waste time making an impact. He recorded two shots on goal and drew a penalty during his first shift. Parise finished the night with 11:24 of ice time.”

I’m just some jackass Avs fan but I was pretty happy with his performance. Still got speed. Love that he took some shots. He’s got that Helm look to em.

“Zach Parise has played in more than 50 NHL games against the Avalanche.
Their foe is now a friend.
Parise made his Avs debut Monday night against the Rangers to open a six-game road swing out of the All-Star break. The veteran winger slotted beside center Ryan Johansen and forward Artturi Lehkonen on the second line in a 2-1 overtime loss. Parise — [recently signed to a one-year Avs contract through the end of this season](https://denvergazette.com/sports/colorado-avalanche/zach-parise-colorado-avalanche/article_d4b8a244-bcac-11ee-8e06-f708028c0eab.html) — reflected on history playing against his new team.
