[TSN] Dreger says Rangers want to move their 2024 1st RD pick to add at the deadline, but the owner James Dolan wants them to keep the pick so that they can be part of the spectacle at the Draft at the Sphere in Las Vegas, also owned by Dolan.

Someone make it stop. It’s such a shit show with this ownership

This was supposed to be a Beaverton post right? And it got uploaded to TSN on accident.. ^^^right?

The team is average and there are virtually no centers or defensemen worth a damn in the prospect pool. There isn’t a player out there that could change that for a first round pick, so why trade it?

Unless they’re getting Guentzel, there isn’t a player worth trading the 1st round pick for. So Dolan is completely right for not wanting them to trade the draft pick and completely insane for his reasoning.

Rare James Dolan W? The reasoning behind it is absurd but I agree.

We should be using that pick to draft a center, in the event that (God forbid) Chytil has an early retirement

Ya know I kinda agree with Dolan. But for different reasons. I just don’t think this team has earned us spending a 1st round pick at the deadline with our recent play

Ah yes Dreger clearly got this from Chris Drury the guy known for being Johnny tightlips about things.

  8. Dont get too excited Dolan didnt say the 25 or 26 picks, he said not the 24. Since Dreger said they made an offer for Lindholm maybe this is coming from Calgary, like we like the package but want a pick this year not next and Drury says Im not allowed to move it.

No way that Dolan is actually unintentionally making the right decision for this franchise.

Ah remember when we all liked Dolan for being a hands off owner?

Love to see the priorities. Who cares about the spectacle of lifting the cup. Forget about the spectacle of a Stanley Cup parade. Blows my mind.

I dont think the pick would really move the needle to us being legit contenders currently, but the reasoning for not moving it is absurd.

With the way this team drafts…who cares about a first round pick?

He’s right for all the wrong reasons 😂
