Vitek has positive GSAx, even if only barely. Baby steps, but fingers crossed its the start of a nice run for him.
Frustrating to get scored on first and have the multiple goals in short succession, but otherwise a very good team performance against one of the best teams in the league
This may be a hot take, but I like when the Devils win.
I also like when we keep the big names off the score sheet.
Also, never knew the league/ESPN broadcast crew actually likes the Avs more than they do the NYR. I still feel like barfing.
And we made every mistake we usually do & the only outcome different tonight was that we actually won the game.
I’ll take it.

Scoring that greasy goal during the avs coach interview was one of the fuckin funniest things I’ve ever seen
The things I think are most important about that win:
Lindy really had the team going.
Lindy whispered into Viteks ear that he’ll get the win if he just tries hard.
Dano was at home knocking a couple back and thinking Lindy is a good coach.

* Nico Hischier said everyone, including himself, needed to take a good look in the mirror over the break and ask themselves if they want to be a playoff team. That was a big thing for Nico to say and his team FUCKING RESPONDED.
* NICO HISCHIER IS SO IMPORTANT. HE IS SO IMPORTANT.
* Luke Hughes has put together such a good chunk of games playing fucking shut down defense. Going up against NateMack and Mikko and fucking standing up to them.
* Speaking of, Nico did such a good fucking job of being all over NateMack all game. He was left POINTLESS. Thats fucking huge.
* Scoring UP AND DOWN the lineup.

* Fuck Lindy anyway for not taking a time out after that tying goal in twenty nine seconds.
* I thought for like eighty percent of the game we were the better team, so I’m glad we won.

Stealing a win against the Avs was huge. Hopefully we can heal up and make a run for the playoffs.

I don’t care what the score sheet said, Vitek was the fucking man tonight. That man faced an endless volley in the third period. He won us that game tonight
I got home from band practice feeling good that we were up 3-1 and apparently handling the game well and as soon as I got home to turn the TV on it was the dreaded 29 seconds. Butthole clenched through an onslaught just hoping to get a point out of it. Gave my cat a handful of treats and said MILO PLEASE MAKE THE DEVILS WIN and they scored while he was eating his treats. Jumped out of my chair and yelled. Handled the last few minutes of the game well to not let them get the goalie off the ice and played some solid D. Not their best period but found a way to get 2 regulation points against a tough team with all the momentum. That Vitek save against Mackinnon was the reason they won the game, I thought it was over right there. Big team win with a lineup depleted of half their top six. Hopefully we get a return from Jack and Toffoli for Thursday night. See you at the Rock then!
I saw dudes putting their bodies on the line tonight, and honestly that’s what we need if we’re gonna make a push for the playoffs. Hope the boys get healthy and we can put together a real push. The talent is there.

I was not planning on watching this team
anymore if they lost this game, but now that they won I will watch and continue to be upset.
Loved hearing the Vi-Tek chants coming through the TV. He deserved them
Good teams find a way to regain momentum after taking a punch in the gut. I’m just a little confused as to why the Devils played the 4-on-4 like a penalty kill, but at least they responded well and got the win.
Can we take a moment and appreciate Luke Hughes.
It was clear by the break that he was running on empty, not fumes, empty. He took the break seriously, came back fresh as fuck and played outstanding defense on some of the best playmakers in the league.
That was fun.
They could’ve just folded when COL got two quick ones in the third. They didn’t. Good on them to keep their heads. But the real problem is they came out in the third clearly playing not to lose, but not playing to win. They need to learn to step on the gas when they’re up, not check the brakes.

All in all, it was a really good showing by us besides the two goals that happened 30 seconds apart. Nevertheless, I was impressed with the performance considering the amount of pain we’ve all experienced this season
Sat next to Ross Colton’s high school coaches and friends/family. From how everyone spoke about him seemed like a solid guy and shame devils couldn’t get him considering he was a huge fan growing up
I’m glad VV played well. I think there was only 1 he shouldve had that he didn’t. If he can stay like this it’s a huge positive.
2nd year in a row the Devils first game after (and closest to) my birthday is a W. We take those.
Let’s get that 3peat next year.
