Namestnikov In the Dog House with Rangers?

He was a healthy scratch last night. Will his time with New York be short?

  1. To this day I still don’t understand that trade. Miller is the same age and better imo. Why would they trade him? McDonough for namestikov and those pics would’ve been fair/ even a rangers trade win. But adding miller made absolutely no sense for the Rangers. Yzerman really pulled highway robbery there

  2. It’s clear he’s had an attitude problem ever since zoning here and doesn’t wanna be here. He’d probably be better on a contender I’d say trade him now and get back the most you can for him

  3. The trade was way more about Howden and Hajek than Namestnikov. Remember, it’s all about the future. Hajek needs 1 more year until he’s NHL ready, projected to be a solid offensive D-man.

  4. I see Vladdy as more of filler in the trade last year. The main pieces were the picks and Howden, who btw scored his first ever NHL goal last night. Vlad will mostly likely be a rental either this year or next with all the center depth the Rangers have now and in the system.

  5. Guys peoples saying they got robbed, listen:
Miller was a no show half the nights, and is a playoff nightmare. How many points did he have for the Bolts in the playoffs? How many mistakes? More mistakes than goals I can tell ya,
And McDonut wasn’t getting signed by NYR, he’s way overpaid

NYR got Howden who just scored his first goal, and K’Andre Miller, the better Miller. And a future first plus Nammy

  6. He'll be moved if this continues or gets worse or he might end up in the KHL next year. Something off topic, I like the non existent toilet bowl look on the collar of New York Rangers jerseys.

  7. That's what the rangers get when you make a bone headed trade. Rangers organization is a joke. Ranger fans are delusional. I sold my loyalty because the front office is more whack then Ottawa.

  8. If the Rangers are going to cut their losses with Namestnikov, will they currently be selling low? I think the opinion is still fairly positive of Namestnikov, meaning they don't have to force him into the lineup

  9. Namestnikov went from a Cup contender in TB to a rebuilding situation with NYR, can't blame him for not being happy, but he has to suck it up & play well & be a valuable asset to a team for a playoff push if he's traded.

  10. I think the rangers should give him another chance the rangers are not a playoff team he is a young talent idk the rangers suck tbh and this shows that they don’t want to win

  11. I hope they waive him so we can get him back. He played at a decent level for us. Bring home Namestnikov!

  12. Names was really viewed as a place holder for Miller's typical production. The trade was more about getting something for JT since the Rangers we're going to have to choose between him and Hayes. They chose Hayes since JT is really good but really inconsistent. Very streaky. Because of his play with Tampa, Miller is seen as more valuable now, but at the time he wasn't fetching top dollar. Put him on another team and he still doesn't. Just like Names, Miller is benefitting from being on Tampa. I think he is better than Names, but not worlds better. Names is probably struggling with being moved from Tampa.

  13. Rangers never planned on keeping him, He's apart of the ''for sale'' roster with Hayes, Zooks, Spooner, Smith, Staal….etc. If you're over the age of 25 and you're a Ranger, Don't get too comfy.

  14. That team needs defense badly, more than just acquiring McQuaid. A world class goalie like Hank the Tank deserves better.

  15. Obviously I think Miller is a better overall player, however no one on Tampa has had better chemistry with Kuch/Stamkos then Namestnikov. As a Tampa fan, i'll gladly take him back (not for Miller), except now he's making $4 mil for the next 2 years so idk..

  16. I hated this deal from the get-go. Giving up Miller and McDonagh was not worth it, and I felt it was obvious that Namestnikov fit in better when some of today's best players were helping him. I fear I am being proven right… dark times are ahead for New York, methinks.

  17. I was mad when I heard he was wasn't in the lineup, he hasn't been given a chance but he hasn't shown he deserved

  18. I cannot see Vlad being on his way out of New York Yet. The Rangers invested 4 million for this year and the 2019-20 season, he will get another opportunity to prove himself to David Quinn, rest of management, the fans and his teammates.

  19. As a Rangers fans, Namestnikov for Miller was a really weird addition to the Mac trade. It was hated at the time, and it's still hated now.

  20. The coach used him mostly on the 4th line i pre season and in the opener, then he sat one game and he has one assist now playing against CAR.

  21. As a tampa fan I would absolutely take Namestnikov for Miller in a heart beat. Vladdy gets criminally under used for how fucking amazing he is at literally every aspect except scoring points. What everyone here is choosing to ignore is that Vladdy is WHY the stamkov line was so good at the beginning of the year, and once he was off they faltered in games that mattered. JT Miller has been a playoff ghost his entire career and is NOT someone I am comfortable with defensively, or in any way at his salary. Vlad can play every position and excels at all of them from a statistical standpoint, or the eye test.

I'm so sick and tired of seeing him get dicked around and shuffled up and down lineups just because he's a team player and will gladly play any role. At this point I'd rather see him go be a star in the KHL. He's clutch, he's always working his ass off and putting the team first, and will make any teams possession numbers skyrocket. It just doesnt make any sense to me why he never got a real chance here, and is seemingly not getting one in ny either.

He's also probably my favorite player of all time so take this with a grain of salt

  22. vladdy and spooner are both gonna be traded for sure. theyre definitely not a part of the future of this team

  23. Stamkos n kuch made vladdy what he was in Tampa, n the rangers bought it lol thanks for playing NY, come again.

  24. I feel like he was salty that Tampa traded him mid career year and also lost some confidence in NYR last year. I like the kid I want him to play extremely well whether that’s in New York or elsewhere

  25. Him Hayes or Spooner needs to be traded, they all fill the same role and if we get panerin like sources say we might we need to open up a roster spot, I don't want to lose Hayes, and I would object to losing Namestnakov the least of the three. However if we get a good enough offer for either Hayes or Spooner he's good enough to fill that spot

  26. I feel like this is similar to how Hall performed when first being traded to the devils. He was ok, but could've been playing so much better. He was clearly bitter about the trade and wanted to be anywhere but in Jersey. Then the coaching staff lit a fire under him.
Namestnivok needs something similar to that. Either the rangers coaches need to break through to him to play better, or he needs to be traded to a team that will do that

  27. Despite hating the loss of Mcdonagh. he trade was ok. The extensions shocked the crap outta me.

  28. Did anyone see the end of the Rangers vs. predators? The Rangers took a too many men penalty and the camera was on the Rangers bench..namestakov was tapped by the coach to serve the minor at which he rolled his eyes and raised his right arm..I’m wondering if the benching was because the coaching staff saw this on the flight to Buffalo and was like “park it bud”!

  29. Howden and Hajek should be very good players in the future. On a good team, Howden would be a great 3rd like center. On a bad team, he can be a strong 2C. And Hajek was our top defensive prospect, before Foote and Sergachev came into the organization. He looks like he could be a reliable 3-4 D. And if we win the Cup they get another first. Im fine with what we gave up. And Rangers fans should be too.

  30. Not to disagree, but Namestnikov is also currently dealing with an issue of a clogged lineup. Kreider is our 1LW, then we have the middle 6 guys where Namestnikov SHOULD be, but isn't because of his play. Then at the bottom we have a mix of defensive guys and younger players. He really doesn't fit anywhere on the lineup given his level of play.
