They were playing over their heads anyway. BTW, if you don't count a shootout win (there weren't shootouts when the Penguins went on their run) the comparable is 12 straight wins for the Oilers which barely registers. Oilers catching the Canucks is more laughable by the day eh?
Upgrade over Ceci and top 6 winger. Kane hasn't been the same since his injury, but he still is a difference maker on the ice for us. Guentzel would be an interesting addition.
A backup upgrade over Pickard would be ideal too to give Skinner nights off, but leave the boys with peace of mind that they could bail em out come a bad play/turnover/breakaway.
I can't see them moving Campbell this year. But next year, when the cap goes up and has only 3 years, that will be easier, especially at next years trade deadline.
What the Oilers need to do? Bury their chances, and limit glaring mistake, especially by Cece and Bouchard (always the main culprits) . All Vegas does is throw the puck at net hoping for a deflection, screen shot or a juicy rebound. The Oil just need to cover the Vegas players in front of the net, but they NEVER seem to do.THIS is the Oiler's Kryptonite!. Until they learn how to tie up Vegas players in front, they wont be winning a series. Its a simple solution but for whatever reason the players find it difficult! IMO the Oilers carried most of the play last night and had the better opportunities. One win apiece for the year, the tie breaker comes April 10th in Edmonton. Should be a gooder!
Nah because last year vegas beat oilers in playoff but they beated everyone else as well hence winning the cup and the oilers literally beat them earlier in the year lmao
