  1. Nice to see the PP convert multi goals but Smith invisible again…and DOC will never be a top 2 line player…feel sorry they are doing this to Geno. He needs a real scorer on his line.

  2. Im not just gonna forget youre reluctant acceptance of Noels statiscal performance given his glue-like importance to this squad. What he brings to the squad is not measurable by statistics yet somehow manages to have a profound effect on the culture and dynamic of this team. He defines the toughness we dont have and you lock onto the statistical nonsense. Wake up. See the game and this team for what it is. They need a spark like a locker-friendly Acciarri to win games. Its just really disappointing that you dont see that

  3. Colin white is already on the roster. I can see him playing the 4c and have carter take the draws. Then bring gruden up as the 13th forward. White was playing on malkins wing a few weeks ago so i think he gets the first crack.

  4. The defense performed GREAT yet again…. Like they’ve been doing for most of the season. Offensively their still shaky AF and underratedly bad (22nd in goals scored per game) but you have to take getting 2 powerplay goals on the major penalty FINALLY making the other team pay!!! Solid W

  5. Puljujarvi looked like a solid middle 6 winger last night. Very much a DOC compliment type player. Making the small plays to help out the team. Looking like a nice addition compared to the off season signings for depth.

  6. Good game overall. O'Connor looked really good. Carter with seemingly the only clue as to what needs to be done on the PP.

  7. Dillon has to get a 10 game’s suspension for the bush league hit….! 🤬😡! I would have two handed my stick over his 🦷 teeth!!! 🤷🏻‍♂️ Those type of hits are unacceptable and it’s absolutely ridiculous to see that clown 🤡 injuring people! He almost ruined Teddy bluegers career and then last night he could have killed him with that hit!

  8. Is it me or did the new guy look really slow last night? He didn’t really do much but lets give him a chance to show what he’s got!

  9. Sometimes I just don't know what game Dejan is watching. There was a huge Karlsson gaffe where he passed the puck across the blueline and it was picked off and led to a big scoring chance for the Jets, and this is what was said on the game feed by DK: "Man, Erik Karlsson handled an Ehlers rush there about as well as one can. Skated every inch right alongside him, turned him away, poked behind the net. That's really good stuff. Might have to highlight that later." Wow. Totally missing the whole reason why Karlsson had to do that and was put in that position to begin with.

I don't know, maybe with everything else he has to do during the game, he misses key things like that. Or maybe he was looking at it with a predisposed filter and only pointing out the "Defend" aspect of everything because that supports his theory on what is important to them winning and what the Pens are missing. Then again, he never really comments when Malkin does something as boneheadedly similar, so I guess giveaways aren't important. I know Phil Bourque's head exploded when he was talking about it.

Also, he said the the second PP goal was started on a Crosby wiff. Sorry, but even though it looks like a wiff, that was an intentional shot pass to Guentzel who was crashing in on the left side to take the pass. No way that was all coincidence, and some perfectly coordinated screw up. if you look at the slo-mo you can see Crosby's shot didn't miss the blade at all and it was his intention to sell it as a hard shot on net to get Hellebuyck out from the crease. He's done this before, but this one was so good it fooled everyone, obviously.

  10. Did anyone else catch at the end of the 1st period Letang and Graves having a heated discussion? I'm thinking Letang has had enough and is starting to let players like Graves know this isn't going to fly anymore and he needs to pick up his game. THAT'S the kind of leadership this team needs. These players who are the anchors for this team (literally and figuratively) need to start leaning on the players who are underperforming.

  11. I'm still a believer that EK belongs on the 1st PP unit. EK needs to be that guy, the qb. He'll shoot the puck from the point, something Letang rarely does (as he demonstrated on what led up to Carter's goal. He and Malkin can not play together on the PP. Keep Malkin with Letang on the 2nd unit.

  12. This season has been frustrating because this team shows you how good they can be with performances like this. Think of this, during the season The Penguins have shutout victories against The Colorado Avalanche, Vegas Golden Knights, and now Winnipeg Jets all top teams in the NHL.

They need to do this against teams that are not as skilled or as good as some of the teams I have mentioned above. Either way, very good game last night and a great way to kick start the unofficial second half and what is now going to be a grind to the finish.

  13. Terrible Hit on Noel Acciari DK. I hope he is going to be ok. If the Pens keep playing the way they did last night they have a chance. I still believe they can, but it won't be the first time I felt this way, and it won't be the last. Thank you DK

  14. DK, Dillon has a reputation as being a dirty player. He broke Teddy Blueger's jaw and I'd be shocked if Acciari doesn't have a concussion. My question is why is does the NHL allow someone like this to continue to play in the league? If he's suspended it should be minimum for the rest of the season.

  15. Man as a Winnipegger with a bunch of Pittsburgh ties, these games are always tough. I don’t want either team to lose lol. But this was one of the worst because of the Dillon hit. Hate to see that

  16. Although the Pens are currently trending in the right direction, they have been a pretty up and down (inconsistent) team this year. So it really took me by surprise to notice today that they have the best goals against in the entire eastern conference. There must be something to this defending thing.

  17. This team has shown that they can be a defensive juggernaut. They need to embrace that as their identity.
