  1. No way anyone watched Russel and Pickett over the past 2 seasons and thinks Russ's current game is that much drastically better than Kenny's for the Steelers to eat that contract. Kenny is in a rookie deal. Pass

  2. Russell Wilson doesn't have a market, who is going to tether their coaching future to him? Any franchise would have to be absolutely without options, let's try a hail Mary with Wilson

  3. If you think these COACHES and players who voted Russ as one of the TOP 10 NFL players just a couple of years ago, don't know and appreciate Russ, yall are crazy. And btw, Wilson's extension doesn’t even start until 2024! Sean Payton wasn't even Denver's 1st choice. Russ's SALARY was $2 million THIS year! Compare Russ, the 9x Pro Bowler, 2x appearance/ Super Bowl winning 35 y/o Russell to 1x Pro Bowler SB winner 35 y/o Matthew Stafford who REFUSED to alter his 40mil/yr contract THIS year. Bench him, okay, but OWN it and not lie or be a coward but you guys hired a coward😅. Wilson only opted to not get rid of his INJURY CLAUSE, he previously offered to restructure but Payton prefers to (try) and blame others for his incompetence…lol!

  4. I don't want to sound like a doomsayer, but if Russ can't work it out with a hall of fame bound coach after this many starts, in a team with reasonable talent, he isn't going to add relevancy to any franchises that are not being given serviceable quaterback play. All he will do is to find his next big paycheque, which isn't really fair.

At most, he should be a 5-10m/year guy for say 3 years, go light on he guarantees, with the 10m pushed towards the back-end of his contract, with incentives and targets in case he can show what happened at the Broncos was not really his fault.

  5. It seems like Colin is talking negatively on Russ just cuz he’s really good friends with Sean Payton. Russ has played good this year. It’s the defense that cooked. Payton’s defense

  6. Why would Russ need a big salary from a new team? He could get paid $1 and a half million from a new team and still make over 39 million from the Broncos. Russ is a cheap buy for any team interested.

  7. Russ is poison. Not good enough to start and too egotistical to back up. He can’t read a D. He can’t comprehend a complex O. Buyer beware.

  8. Also, i think a lot of this depends on just how few teams are interested and how long Russ is willing to wait it out. There's no one that should be giving him anything more than a two year for like $40 million at most. His play has made it clear he's not a top tier talent anymore. He's kind of mobile, decently accurate, bails out of the pocket too early and can play decently well if managed properly. Honestly, he should get around $10-$15 million. His distant past will get him more, but he's probably not worth much more and definitely not worth a whole lot more.

  9. He should come to Tennessee to give Derrick a reason to stay. Give Levis some time to develop & learn understanding a seasoned, winning quarterback

  10. The Rams were a quality veteran QB away from their SB win. I think that is the kind of team that could win with Russ. He's shown in the past to be able to take care of the ball and when he gets hot, he could take you throw a playoff run.

  11. It is unbelievable that you people think Russell Wilson is a starting NFL QB. You might as well sign Cam Newton to be your QB. Russ has been declining for 6 years. Pete Carroll didn't want Russ.
Payton didn't want Russ. And in each case you blame the coach for Russ's failure. At which point do you hold Russ accountable. Talk about living in the past. Trade for Fields or sign Cousins. I would rather have Ryan Tannehill before Russell Wilson. What in God's name from the last 6 years makes you think Russell Wilson should be your starting qb, Does anyone watch the games and players they talk about, or just the highlights. Two of the best coaches in football (Payton and Carroll) could not make Russ work, and for some reason you think Mike Tomlin might think he is the one to bring Russ back to life. Or you think Arthur Smith in Atlanta wants to tie his football future to Russell Wilson. Talk about reading the tea leaves. He is going to do what two hall of fame coaches couldn't. Russ would make an excellent backup (ala Gino Smith was to him). The Patriots signing a declining Cam Newton made more sense than it would signing Wilson.

  12. Do people realize that the Broncos record would be the exact same if they started Jared Stidham. Does that not tell you all you need to know. I would guess that every coach in the NFL would watch Wilson;s tape, and think no thanks. Those who don't learn from history are destined to repeat it. You are treating Mike Tomlin like he is stupid. You think that Mike Tomlin is sitting there thinking "Payton and Carroll couldn't get Russ to work but I can because I am a QB genius" And isn't Mason Rudolph playing better than Russ Wilson. The best thing that has happened to Russell Wilson in 6 years is Joe Flacco having success, When someone loses two QB's and has a great defense. Call Russell Wilson in week 9. (Give him the office he needs in case the coach wants to talk to him)

  13. But falcons could get Wilson for $3million next year. Reason being Broncos pick up $36 million of Wilson’s salary!😂

  14. You can’t get cheaper than the very experienced and still game Russell Wilson for $1.2M that’s rookie Russ.

  15. Russ has only had ONE coach bail on him: Sean Payton. Pete Carroll wanted him back. Russ wound up in Denver because Russ wanted to go to Denver.

He could have stayed in Seattle if he had wanted to, and in hindsight he should have. Nathaniel Hackett would have stayed in Denver and coached him if he could have.

  16. Russ doesn’t throw the ball deep anymore??? Payton had him checking down every pass play. Russ can still spin it deep, and with the same touch and accuracy he has always had.

  17. Raiders
    Seahawks
    Seahawks
    Commanders

That’s what I see. And even if Pete Carroll were still in Seattle, Russ would fit. Russ and Pete have been talking with Russ showing up at Pete’s party a few days ago.

  18. Watch Colin next season when Russ is kicking a$$.

“I always knew that it just wasn’t a good fit in Denver. Russ needed to get away from there…no knock on Sean Payton, but he didn’t know how to coach Russ. Everyone who thought Russ was washed was out of their gourdes!”

    That’s fair-weather, flip-floppin’ Freddie for ya! 😏
