   Kid is a fucking stud. I can’t believe how beneficial the DeBrincat trade might end up being for the Hawks.

   His offensive resurgence this season has been extremely encouraging after such a brutal season last year when he just couldn’t seem to get on the board much (or stay healthy).

This quote does a good job summarizing his season changes:

   >*”He’s always the guy that brings a high level of compete, a high level of energy every time he steps on the ice,” Kingston Frontenacs general manager Kory Cooper said. “I think over the course of maybe the last full calendar year he’s done a better job of maybe calming his game down a little bit and not being so erratic and hyper necessarily with the puck and trying to force plays or over-handle plays. I think he’s able to move the puck efficiently, understand when he can hit a hole or just his timing and all that kind of stuff. Because he is so fast and electric, at times it’s too fast and has to carry too much speed. So be able to calm his game down a bit and control the play, control the puck and be able to utilize teammates to find better ways to get open, I think has obviously been one of the changes for me.”*

   Basically he’s trying to get away from the Athanasiou style of play where the only goal is SPEED, SPEED, SPEED, which is great and seems to be working well lol
