  1. Don't trade up from a top 10 pick unless you're a playoff team that somehow managed to acquire it. If Washington misses the playoffs, trade the Jets pick for Washington's + Kuznetsov.

  2. Who would they want whos still younger?
    Zegras?Necas?Chabot?Johnson/Jiricek?
If Montreal moves Savard,Pearson,Anderson,Allen ect they can aquire more picks

  3. Love the discussions but don't always agree with you. Monaghan went to the Jets because it was the "best 'fit" for both team & player. Maybe the best fit for Monaghan but not quite the best fot the team .. but close enough. ( promises, promises). Now we see what it would take to get a top 5: Calgary/Florida picks and 'haul' of later picks would have value for Sharks. And
Look at leaders in every division: common denominator… We don't have nearly enough size to compete with any of them.
    LOVE the pod.
    But let MA talk.

  4. The habs will never competitive as long as they carry that Gallagher’s contract, the habs can afford to keep him in the lineup either as he’s a bad example for the young guys as he doesn’t deserve his ice time and hurts the team every time he steps on the ice . Gallagher has to be traded now, it will cost a lot to get rid of him, Hugues will have to overpay but he has to be done. It’s also isn’t worth buying him out or placing him on waivers as the habs will still have to pay half his salary and they need cap space bad

The habs have way to many defensemen prospects and plenty of goalies in the system, they’re also the team with the most draft picks in the past 3 years , 12 picks at each of those seasons , they also have 12 for 2024 . They’re drafting too many players and running outta room

So the best scenario would be packaging gallagher and good assets in a deal and aquire a top six forward in the process, like I said they’re gonna have to overpay but this would complete the rebuilt and all there would be left to do is for players to develop

So here’s an exaggerated mock trade

To Anaheim , Harris , Gallagher, 2024 winnipegs 1st, 2026 montreals first top 10 protected

    To Montreal Zegras

You can substrat or add assets , whatever makes this deal happen, but gallagher has to go

  5. MTL needs Lidstrom
But I'm Guessing if they trade there 7th and Winnipeg pick they could be in Cole Eiserman range at 5th
    A D will go top 4
    Hugo B+ Rating Draft
    A+ asset management
    Petry for Matheson😅
    Monahan 2/ 1st round picks
    Dach and Newhook

  6. Love how Arpon asks a question, Marc Antoine responds, and as he responds Arpon just starts talking over him and cuts him off.. wow.. can he learn to let his colleague complete his comment before he goes on babbling for nothing?? Let the other talk for crying out loud!

  7. Hey guys just wanted to say thanks for the solid Habs coverage. I appreciate the professionalism and the ability you have to think outside of the box on various matters. Keep it up!
