There is a study shown that teams that profit the most aren't necessary your Stanley Cup Championship teams. They are teams that consistently make the playoffs year after year with the star players that they can market to the fans on the the team. The study shown that factoring into other expenses into account, the most profitable for a team is to play a 7 game series in the first round with home ice advantage.
In some instances, the owners who are billionaires care more about the $$$ than the championship. As long as they have star players that they can market on the team and the team consistently makes the playoffs, they can benefit from it. These owners would still be happy if the their team win the cup, but they are fine without one as long as the team is profitable.
Who cares about NY
Vancouver is still VERY overrated. They will be a one and done team again. Losers since 1970.
Lindy and Kuzy will both benefit from this trade. It’s a steep cost, but who knows, maybe the canucks will sign him. They want to win now, and Lindy will do a lot. It hurt to see him go, but with a pair of goals in his first game.. ya know
