He signed a long term deal with a NMC for a reason. Dude just had a kid and Swedes love living near the Rockies – closest to Sweden theyā€™ll get. Also the best mentor Wolf could have for next season

  2. superbear19

Vladar should be the one to go wolf still need more time to grow and having a great player like marky allows us that time

I don’t think Conroy wants to trade Markstrom unless he gets an unbelievable package, and I don’t think Markstrom wants to be traded (especially during the season). I think Markstrom would understand Conroy’s position if he got offered an amazing package, but he probably doesn’t want to hear Conroy asking about waving until the deal is essentially done.

Basically, if you like where you are and have no desire to move, I could see how it would be annoying to be asked if you would waive your NMC every time another team kicked the tires.

Heā€™s gonna go dance out his aggression at ranchmans

  5. levelprime

honestly a nice change of pace to have someone that wants to stay lol

  6. Specialist-One-712

It’s nice to see a franchise goaltender who

    a) Really wants to stay here, to the point that the idea of moving makes him angry

    b) Is clearly good enough that he could go anywhere he wanted, but still doesn’t want to be traded. He’s literally holding the team up this year.

Not sure how we can trade Vladar but we should. Marky wants to stick around.

  7. Far_Maximum_7736

Isnā€™t it part of the business? So your name is mentioned? I would say get over it, it comes with the territory

  8. Paulhockey77

If I trade does happen itā€™s probably in the off-season

  9. ListOk9138

Such clickbait, listen to Friedmans podcast and how he talks about Markstrom. They arenā€™t even going to think about approaching him to waive his NMC unless itā€™s an UNREAL huge package.

  10. Previous-Exit8449

Gotta trade him. I think heā€™d fetch the best return. I also think that if weā€™re slackinā€™ for Macklin, we gotta start letting in more goals.

  11. Motor_Signal_413

I keep fucking telling y’all he wants to stay in calgary lmao

  12. Murphster94

I have no issue keeping my favourite player on my favourite team. Plus he can help Wolf come up for the rest of his contract (if we arenā€™t competitive) and then thereā€™s no season without huge goaltending questions.

  13. Jmac24mats13

If Iā€™m him Iā€™d gladly take a trade to a contender, nothing less

  14. Dash-McDasher

Keep my goalieā€™s name out of your f**king mouth! šŸ‘‹šŸ‘‹

  15. Comfortable-Ad-7158

A quick Google search proves this is another click bait post by another click bait hockey rumors account.

Nothing comes up on Google. Nor does it make any sense. Markky is a veteran. He knows that rumors, are rumors.

  16. kissarmygeneral

I don’t think you need to move him unless it’s just a can’t say no type of deal. He’s a great presence in the room and the city.

  17. MonkeySailor

Guessing they’re just taking that from here: https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/article/32-thoughts-where-will-the-coyotes-call-home-after-mullett-arena/

    > 21 . Others to watch: I get mixed answers on Jacob Markstrom. Itā€™s been mentioned to me several times ā€” he doesnā€™t enjoy his name being out there, and Calgary is very, very sensitive to that. Itā€™s got to be something the Flames canā€™t say no to, or a place Markstrom tells them he wants to go ā€” which has not happened. Of course, that sounds like a negotiating ploy, but itā€™s the truth. Calgaryā€™s preference is to leave him alone. Heā€™s been very good. When that happens, business takes care of itself.

  18. Ngl if thereā€™s anyone we donā€™t move it should be Marky. Losing for picks is nice but preventing a losing culture is important, and itā€™d be nice to have him mentoring wolf

  19. Yeah, the impression I have received over the last month or so it that he probably wants to retire as a Flame.

It is nice to have a player who unabashedly WANTS to play here.

  20. roscomikotrain

Good- keep him to mentor Wolf, Vladar can find a role elsewhere

  21. Macsmackin92

Are they actual rumours or just media guys throwing names around in the ā€œI can see this happeningā€ click bait?

  22. AnxiousArtichoke7981

Moving Marky would slow down mentorship and development of Wolfe. I donā€™t think anyone, other than outside of the Flames organization, is interested in moving him.

  23. likethemouse

We all know Markstrom is an emotional goalie, so things like this can possibly affect his performanceā€¦ hence any trade talks involving Markstrom are more likely off season.. if you are reading this Marky just chill bro
