  1. As a Rangers fan this is tough because at the end of the day as much as I love seeing him play his health is more important than anything and if he believes he’s gotta retire then I support it

  2. Dude got hurt AGAIN with a no contact jersey on…. He needs to focus on his daily life and being able to live it normally.

  3. All the best to the young man. Maybe a year off would help him make that decision. But for right now there is no rush for him to suit up.

  4. This is a good question and complicated.

It makes me wonder when they get so many concussions whether the domino effect is causation.

one guy I know got head injured as a passenger in a car, recovered, was able to get his license again

then had another head-on collision while he was the driver, someone texting and driving, that wasn't technically his fault.

But he's lost his defensive driving skills & prone to near accidents. I think that second accident happened because he's lost something

Nice fellow, but I won't ride in a car with him and he doesn't like to drive

He can steer, work the brake and pedal – but he's lost his ability to adjust quickly when the unexpected happens.

technically a 24 year ole brain is still in puberty. MRI brain scans have firmly established that the human brain is not fully formed until about 27 years old. He's young enough to recover and heal.

But the definition of 'concussion' varies greatly – any jolt to the head, whether it's contact or a direct blow is considered a "concussion"

Toddlers give themselves concussions when they have temper tantrums hitting their heads on the floor

I also wonder about some of these players that skate with their heads down, a certain lunging position.. to stride up ice quickly – their heads are very low.

Connor Bedard. Head down. not only a broken jaw, but technically a concussion.

I still don't think Gallagher was looking to elbow Pellech in the head.

Cuz he's 6 inches taller than gallagher, Pellech waa skating with his head forward, eyes down.

It's not our call, the guy with four concussions, that we know of, should be making the decision –

    he's got good judgment 🙃

Your video is very thought-provoking, causing us to have more questions – no answers here!

  5. Johan Franzen is still dealing with the effects of all the concussions he suffered. I don't think he'd say he regrets playing as long as he did, but I bet his family wishes he had hung up his skates before his last one. With multiple concussions like that, they can change your life forever. Even if he feels like the post concussion syndrome is over and wants to come back next year, one more bad hit and the entire rest of his life could be misery. I love hockey so much, but nothing is worth that. I hope he doesn't risk it. Please take of yourself Filip.

  6. Props for your serious take on this issue and for reminding everyone what is at stake here. I don't want any player ruining their life in such a horrific and tragic way like what happens when CTE develops just for my entertainment and fandom. As a Red Wings fan, I'm still heartbroken about Johan Franzen.

  7. No amount of money or technology can fix a broken brain. It's just not worth it. There are so many fun things to do in life that you don't have to stick with your "passion", you can always find another one. The problem is that most people don't figure that out until it's too late. Once your only brain is damaged, finding new joys in life becomes really difficult.
