I saw this in the off season when he was playing with dach. Then dach got hurt and i saw slaf get set back a bit. He is 19 and like you said, is the plays he is part of it that he doesn't get points. He is making plays happen.
He has all the tools to become a superstar
he reminds me of Byfield last years, not there yet point-wise but more quality shifts, more ice time, more confidence, so I'm already excited for next season, especially with Byfield early performances this season
My best comparison in terms of style and role that Slavkoskÿ will have is Brendan Shanahan. Shanahan had only 7 goals and 26 points in 65 games in his first season. Slav. has the same potential, it’s up to him to realize it

Im really happy with the slaf pick everyone had shane wright first and he isn’t really it yet. Cooley seems great but tbh nobody expected him to go first and the difference between the two is not that big. Slaf also has size which the habs absolutely need and he is responsable defensively. The type of player you want to have on a winning team with good caracter

Slaf #1 for me by a big margin. And that was my take even back in the fall. I dissected Cooley's numbers and subsequently debunked the Cooley >>> Slaf crap being posted on that garbage cesspool known as HFboards. Cooley was getting very pampered minutes. Most of his points were a either/or with Arizona's top players and on the PP. And his TOI gradually shrank as the season went on as their coaches clearly could see he was a 1D player feeding off of sheltered and coddled minutes. Slaf had zero PP time until the last month, and was playing with offensive black holes like Anderson who he setup countless times only to have him flub the play.
And although I believe Nemec is better at this point than Cooley, he's been poor defensively, relatively speaking. Not a shock for a young D new to the NHL, but still, we're comparing the 3, so fair game, IMO.
Slaf has been equally as effective/good defensively as he has offensively. And actually equally as good in all 3 zones. Add to that he has decent hits numbers and shots blocked as well…I wouldn't even for one second consider trading him for any other prospect from the 2022 draft, including Cooley and Nemec.
GRAVITEH: If you haven't already seen it, look for the end to end rush he had in OT vs Pitt, where he beat a forechecking Crosby in his own zone, then turned on the Jets through the neutral zone and ended by dangling past the PItt D-man to go in all alone, only for the goalie to make a great save. If you threw a mullet on the guy, you could be fooled into thinking it was Jaromir Jagr.

You dont deserve to talk about Juraj. You have always been a hater who doesnt really understand hockey, all you look at are points, but because you are probably so in everything you do (lazy, blind, too self-confident), you clearly show you have no idea about how much Juraj contributes to the team – for example how much he helps to bring points of others even if he doesnt get an assist, but this a hater and clearly not a someone who doesnt get hockey cannot see. Shame on you and people like you, hating Juraj for simply being 1st overall and then when he starts proving how good he really is (and still only doing so at 19), then you start pretending how well you know him and how well you understand his hockey (and overall).
