God this is so brutal

We need to talk about the terrible injury suffered by Mikhail Sergachev. We’ll discuss all that and more on today’s NHL hockey video while we also cover the New York Rangers vs Tampa Bay Lightning nhl game!

  1. I really hope he's okay, but FIRST game back after injury he's injuring his leg again? I doubt he's playing again this season, and hopefully he'll be ready by training camp. Gotta feel for Lafreniere too, such a freak accident off a harmless play, I'd feel so awful knowing it was his first game back after injury.

  2. Had my femur break in both my legs when I fell off a chinook fast rope at night with my rucksack. Can't speak on tibia or tibia injuries but my femurs healed in just under 5 months with the bones becoming stronger than they were by 7 or 8 months. I imagine the tibia is about the same since both those bones are roughly the same size though itl depend on his body and how bad the break is

  3. I’m a rangers but this is just so brutal couldn’t watch the game yesterday but know seeing the injury makes me feels so bad for sergachev

  4. Didn’t realize it was a compound tib/fib.
I say compound because that’s what it’s called when it goes through the skin. And it looks like it definitely did.

  5. Gah, I had the same break on my leg years ago, soccer game. I had surgery, titanium rod and plates, and I was on crutches for a month. That was 20 years ago, and the rod and plates are still in. It was a faster recovery, but I still had a limp for a better part of a year. A highly-conditioned athlete like Sergachev should be able to rebound.

  6. Professional athletes have THE best medical program on Earth. One of the first people to him on the ice was the orthopedic surgeon, and his treatment started right then. He may already be out of surgery, and he will be skating before the playoffs start. He won't be back this year because of the physical demands of the game, but he won't miss any more than this season. They will put him a a rehab program to minimize the collateral damage you and I would have recovering from the same injury.

He is not in good hands, he is in the best hands.

(SOURCE: I have behind the scenes experience with MLB and NFL and have spoken with medical staff about injuries.)

  7. "Why me, why now"? Poor guy, while his country attacks a sovereign nation. I could care less about the Russian's in the league. Ya'll are so soft.

  8. Man is true, my buddy ended up with a spiral fracture down his tibia and that was 8 months of hell trying to get healthy and ready to play. But he came back stronger and put up numbers for our triple A team. I know he'll be back and better than ever❤

  9. Sucks to see for sergachev I felt really bad seeing them push him off the rink with the towel covering his face but I think he’ll be back and hopefully have a good career Zibanejad had a similar injury back in 2016 I believe and Mika’s leg has help up fine since

  10. At first, I thought his ACL was cooked. I'm not sure if a broken tibia and fibula is better or worse. All I can hope is that he gets well in time for next year.

  11. Hate to see these things but must say and i dont wanna offend Tampa fans..but there is better Defense men than Serge…thats just fact.

  12. Best of wishes for a speedy recovery. I really thought he torn his acl on that hit. Quick has been outstanding and absolutely deserves to start more games. Igor better get it together, I really don’t like that eye tick blinking heavy thing he’s doing all the time, think there might be a vision problem going on. Let’s go Rangers!!!

  13. It doesn't matter what team you cheer for, having a player like Sergachev out for a long time is a loss for the game.

  14. He had surgery to stabilize. Given no complications, usual recovery time is 3 to 6 months. Most likely will be non-weight bearing for 6 weeks at least and then go from there.

  15. Thanks for the heads up on the leg stuff. I've dealt with a dislocating knee cap 4 times over playing soccer, once at basketball and surgery recovered me to the point I feel okay to work in a warehouse environment and stay away from sports so I can walk for my kids. I can't stomach any leg injuries and cringe any time I know ones coming up.

As a Habs fan that should have had him, and the shit he gave us in the finals, he's been an enemy star thats been fun to watch flourish. Seriously best wishes for the guy and hope he can find better success in his recovery than me 😅

  16. I had the guy on my fantasy team and found out this morning that he was hurt again. Despite him being on my fantasy team, I honestly feel bad for the guy. Once he comes back, he'll have my greatest respect after fighting his way back.

  17. You hate to see it. But honestly once I found out that it was broken bones and not ligaments in the knee I felt a little better about his recovery time

  18. I broke my leg the exact same way in 2008. It took me about 4 months to fully recover and get back on the ice. But man, a full leg cast for 2 months SUCKED

  19. the ol' exploding shoulder gets them every time my favorite kind of hit and they ref cant say shit they has the puck ,dont get me wrong i dont want injuries but it is part of the game ,i hope some one is there to help him not get addicted to pain meds cuz 2 injuries so close to each other theirs is a real chance of this

  20. As a Rangers Fan that was very hard to watch an opponent get hurt like that. The second I saw the incident, I immediately knew Sergachev was in a lot of pain based on his expression. Alexis Lafrinere about the hit. I know he didn't mean to hurt Sergachev. It was an unfortunate accident. I got he makes a full recovery and comes back to play again
