  1. It would have been a good hit, but not a big hit. It was more of the Barzal ducking out of he way that made it seem more serious.

  2. Benoit, Rielly, and McCabe are the only 3 d-man for the Leafs, that I would keep! The rest I would trade and or release. The Leafs defense is a mess, and requires big bodies with grit and toughness.

  3. anyone complaining about the fight is annoying. sure you shouldnt have to drop gloves for throwing a hit, but everyone knows superstars are protected. the moment marner or matthews gets run over yall queefs fans will cry for a year long suspension lmao. yall signed ryan reaves for that reason right?? get fucking real 😂😂😂

  4. If someone took the same run at Marner i'd expect the same answer. I don't like the staged fights or a fight after a nice clean hit but protecting your smaller skilled players especially 1 of the best in the game still has to be done to deter that from happening. If someone ran Gretzky, McSorley then would let that team know that their star player was now fair game. Too many punks like Cousins taking runs and then hiding.

  5. Surprised to see all the, 'where was this in Vancouver', Horvat stood up for teammates a handful of times in Vancouver over the seasons, and he does it for the first time for NYI and everybody thinks its some new thing…

  6. What is this Benoit clown doing in the NHL. Reaves is washed up, so they bring this minor leaguer up to make a fool of himself too.

  7. If that is "taking a run" at somebody, I'm a monkey's uncle. If you watch the last replay you will notice Benoit's shoulder and elbow did not come near Barzal. Shame on the broadcast teams (TSN too) for not seeing this obvious non-hit. Troubleondemand got it right.

  8. Totally undisciplined move by Benoit. When a player goes out of his way to hit an opposing player due to a personal agenda and puts his team at a manpower disadvantage as a result that is not playing a team game. But then again, that’s typical leaf hockey.

  9. "Player makes completely legal hit that misses, has to have fun wrestling match with other player."

  10. Feck off NY announcers take yr biased blinkers off, like a dman can’t come across and hit a forward it was not an elbow or it be called, if Benoit was on their team they be saying good hit and he drew a PP! I wish my Leafs had 5 more like Benoit especially on that contract!

  11. Whoever was doing the color commentary is awful. "He almost got an elbow up on him there!" Give me a break.
