   Teams want to hold us hostage with an unreasonable asking price, fine. Hang onto your declining asset and see how that works out for you long term.

   I’d rather pay for Askarov. Young, cost effective. If you’re going to pay big for a goalie, I’d rather not for a 30+ year old

   Good…there’s no reason to be fleeced for a goalie even with the potential for playoffs..the team is banged up, the system needs work defensively, and the kids are getting NHL minutes..I trust Fitzy to make the right decision at the right time..now ain’t it..everyone and their mother knows that there’s a goalie issue here, and teams are going demand more than we’ll bargain for..the market isn’t in the Devils favor

   Goalie trade isn’t going to happen this year. Just isn’t worth giving up the house for 30+ year old gambles. Especially given our issues are not just goaltending. We’re getting healthy, our young defense is getting experience and improving. We can maybe salvage at least a run at a wild card spot. But a trade/move of any kind involving a goalie will likely wait for the offseason. And honestly it should. No reason to give up great assets when we can make better moves in the offseason.

   Shutting the devils out over the past year and a half has been essentially impossible and vanecek playing great and almost earning a shutout against the Canes on the road seems impossible.

   Both happened tonight lol
