Fox will start on both power plays, Gus is just on for practice and in games would come on whenever there is a switch. Whether PP2 or PP1 starts, fox will be on the ice

I’m cool with mixing up the units but Wheeler and Brodz on the top unit doesn’t make sense. Trocheck should be on top unit to take faceoffs and be in bumper position. Wheeler and Kreider are both net presence guys.
I would have Kreider,Mika,Trocheck,Gustafsson and Kakko
2nd Unit Panarin,Brodz,Wheeler,Fox and Laf.
I get it not wanting to mix up lines as the first shift after PP would be the 4th line followed by 1/2 line

Off the top of my head I would love to see Coolio there instead of Wheeler. While I appreciate the hockey IQ of “my wheels fell off” I would think Cooler’s speed and physicality would give that line a level of net front that could open ice up Fox and Mika.
But I am happy to see Laviolette finally acknowledging there might be a issue with PP1.

PP2 is harder to nail down. Laf in the screen spot feels like a waste. They could run overload instead of a 1-3-1 approach. I’m curious

PP2 is easily PP1. PP2 will be a monster with Tro taking face offs and laf and bread distributing. This line is a lot to love if Kakko plays Avery in front of the goalie. I see this line getting a lot of time and scoring a lot of goals
