Red Wings coach loses his mind over Tim Stützle “diving” to draw a penalty

Stop me if you’ve heard this one before, but someone is accusing Tim Stützle of the Ottawa Senators of taking a dive to draw a penalty.

During the recent game between the Senators and the Detroit Red Wings, Christian Fischer of the Red Wings received a two-minute minor penalty for tripping Stützle . Upon reviewing the play on an iPad, Red Wings coach Derek Lalonde expressed intense frustration.

Lalonde was visibly upset, communicating to the officials that Stützle engaged in a dive and should face a penalty for embellishment. At one juncture, he was caught mouthing a few curse words, expressing his displeasure. #nhl #hockey #nhldiscussion #highlights #nhlnews #ottawasenators #torontomapleleafshighlights #montrealcanadiens

  1. He has a history of drawing calls, but I think neither of those two examples were of him actually diving. He legit got tripped on both those calls, if you look at the mechanics and momentum of his body movement neither of those two seemed fake.
