  1. Injuries will happen, like you said, better to keep him for insurance, thereafter if next season we can gain more of a trade value the HABS decide to trade

  2. Mete is severely underrated, especially defensively, when he's on the ice the Habs allow low amounts of scoring chances and he gets out of the zone easily. Absolutely great 7D to have, and at least 15 teams could use him in their lineup right now. @jfreshhockey has some good facts and numbers about Mete's play. Unless they can trade for someone like Vince Dunn, it makes absolutely no sense to trade away our depth. (I would play Mete ahead of Edmundson personally) Of course if Mete is truly unhappy then that's a bigger problem.

  3. You nailed it. Love the response from Berg right away to nip this in the bud. I think the Habs know somewhere down the line he will draw in and I hope he capitalizes on the chance. Come playoff time, the depth of this team will really start to show

  4. No way you trade Mete, this team is a contender and you don’t risk contender level depth. Habs are up against the cap and they have a 750k defencemen that knows the system, knows the players and can play both sides… come on it’s gotta be pretty bad to even consider trading this guy.

  5. For his cap hit, and what he can do, no way he gets traded. He's cheap insurance for the defense that can play and bring different aspects to the d core. I do see why he'd be frustrated, but still 48 games to go and if we lose a d man to injury he could come in and team wouldn't take a step backwards

  6. My thinking is that he's probably afraid that the management has the same plan for him that they had for hudon. I can understand him wanting out and not seeing his career annihilated by sitting for a whole year.
