The Vegas Golden Knights End The Edmonton Oilers Winning Streak

It’s over! After 16 straight wins, the Edmonton Oilers have finally lost a hockey game. The defending Stanley Cup Champion Vegas Golden Knights took care of business on home ice in a tough-fought, playoff-style game. The Golden Knights stopped the Oilers’ winning streak one game shy of tying the record for consecutive wins in a regular season.

  1. This game was a reminder why Vegas won the cup last year and why they should be talked about more in the top team conversation.

Especially if Hill stays healthy, his stats this year are insane

  2. Look did the oilers look good? Yes, but Vegas is still injured. This Vegas team is a monster, and the oilers are honestly not any better than last season.

  3. Being a Leafs fan living in Alberta I for one am extremely happy the streak is over! Now Oilers fans can shut the hell up and hopefully they’ll go on a huge losing streak!

  4. The game looked tight (and in many ways it was), and Vegas did block a lot of shots, but so did the Oilers. Ultimately, the numbers show that it was pretty lopsided in favour of the Oilers, who managed to get a lot of shots past the blockers. Hill was the primary difference. What the Oilers needed was Sam Gagner, who seems to be scoring key goals this year out of the force of pure will if you give him 8 minutes of ice time.

  5. The oilers went on an 8 game win streak and then a 16 game win streak. If we follow the pattern, the Oiler are going on a 32 game win streak next

  6. As a Canucks streak are overrated anyways…..like its cool to have but most teams that go these streaks i think js one won the cup same season with the streak
