The blame has to go on the offense. Tiffoli & Jack have to bury that goal in OT, but even before that, 0-4 on the PP. Unacceptable!!! You can't win games if you don't score. Rumor mill is that serious talks took place for Markstrom but are dead in the water due to not agreeing on the package being offered and Calgary not agreeing to retain salary.
Me and my brother went to this game, it was a rough one for sure. Thought the devils had some really good chances but they just couldn't get it in :/
Vitek did a really good job til the end.
(Side note: I was pleasantly surprised about how many devils fans I saw at the game)
We’re missing Dougie Hamilton bad! Offense is top 5 with him there! Power Play was best in the NHL when he got hurt
They can have all the moral victories they want but it isn’t going to get them into WC. Team is done. Can’t have one f’in good game where both defense and offense produce. This shit is getting old and lame.
Consider this — the Canes had 31 turnovers to the Devils 13. Devils played hard and Vitek played hard and looked solid on the road competing against a tough Canes team. It is terrible because Vitek deserved a lot better than this. I saw a stat this morning that the Devils have wasted at least 10 points this season losing to basement teams. The offense has to step up. Devils have to find a way to win games like this. I watched the game while listening to the radio broadcast. Matt Loughlin called them the Whalers. 😂😂I am very excited about going to the Stadium Series game with my daughter. Super Bowl. 49ers 34. – Chiefs 28.
this is just plain out bad all around either we have defense and can’t score. or we can score and have no defense.
I guess the hockey games are just gonna become something we watch for entertainment instead of actually watching for the team. Ill always be a fan but damn this team is hard to root for

Tonight’s loss goes to… no one going to the front of the net. We don’t have a (Pat Maroon) type player that will do that, and that cost use tonight. Especially on the PP.
That game was AWESOME 🤩 SO much fun to watch, like a really fast chess match!
Bahl was laying hits! Jack actually played some D, and Luke and Nemec, looked really really good! The whole team played as a cohesive unit and focused on defence first!
Hats off to Lindy for making the changes he did, because they are working! To bad he didn’t make those changes while it still mattered.😢
Playing this style of hockey from the beginning of the year, this team would have been a juggernaut! Even with VV in net.
Still don’t understand Holtz being on the 4th line tho?

Gotta find more ways to score seems like they run the same plays, boys need shooting mentality out there instead of making the extra pass. Also dear god hit the net!

i wish this game happened 20 games ago, because they played so well and so structured throughout the whole game that carolina had to genuinely give everything they had just to get it to ot and they had a ton of turnovers as well which is not normal for them and that was because the devils pressure was so good. we can not afford to lose games like this but it does give me hope that if they can keep playing that way EVERY GAME we will at least give ourselves a chance to make the post season dance. the powerplay is the only dark spot in the devils game. but its a sign of how this team can play and as i said its a shame it comes this late in the season but there is some hope
