how can you say Rielly's reaction was justified ??? The sport is doomed with neanderthal thinking like that. Scoring a goal should never be cause to have to look out for someone coming after you. Best reaction would be to totally ignore it and not let the other team think you care about it, and thus they are not getting in your head. To retaliate for something like that is pure garbage. Doesn't even warrant skating up to him and chirping at him. Modern day hockey players are such whiners. They fight after clean hits, which really annoys me. Do they want contact taken out of the game? I hope he gets a lot of games off. Leaf coach really got me fired up with his comment. Another Marc Crawford, defending Todd Bertuzzi's hit from behind.

Another overrated leaf. If Reilly didn't play for the leafs you wouldn't know who he was. Reaves speaks out about it. Lets hear what a player thinks about it.

So he slapped a puck into an empty net . Who the f cares. If it was a tougher player than Greig, would Reilly have even approached him?
If the Leaf's are publicly saying that they sanction this then Greig has an open and shut civil lawsuit case.. And the league could be included in this case if they don't stand against Keefe for his comments.

Ridly "the rivalry reviver" Grieg, let's face it, the Battle of Ontario has been pretty tame this year.. hopefully, this sparks it up going forward.
Rielly should be barred for the rest of the year. Reilly showed what a moron and stupid idiot he is, he could have he could have killed that young man . Reaves spent more time on the ice in the last 15 seconds than he will for the rest of the year .
Reeves and Keefe would defend Scheifele's hit on Jake Evans, and McSorley's stick to Brashear's head if Mcsorley and Scheifele played for the Leafs.
Reilly shouldn't get any punishment. If anything Grieg should get suspended. Super unclassy act. (Not a leafs fan either)

Majority of those cross checks are happening WHEN the game is being played, not after a whistle. There is one incident where a player got cross checked the head after a whistle this year: David Perron on Zub which resulted in a 6 game suspension. It should be 5 and it has zero to do with the market in which the offending player is playing in.

The reason the Leafs have inflated suspension numbers is because of Nazem Kadri (5 suspensions, 19 games)
I turned the game on to see the event of Toronto pulling the goalie hoping to see a last minute flurry. I was not disappointed. Bummer they wouldn't let Tkachuk take the ice for the final faceoff. It's a shame that was the final meeting between the 2.
A team has to be number one on games suspended, it turns out it's the Leafs. If the league is against them, we can safely say that the refs aren't so conspiracy for conspiracy.

Do I think the Leaf's are targeted? That graph makes it hard to deny it. They have had a handful of penalty's that didn't seem to fit the crime (like Spezza's suspension which was too long even after a successful appeal). What I find more interesting is given their dirty style of play Florida is so far down that list. I wonder if Panther's alum George Parros being the SVP of DoPS during the years of this table is just a co-incidence? In fact every team Parros played for is below 14 games, and the teams that were his former teams main rivals have all been hit significantly harder than league average. That's something most NHL teams should be at least questioning.
