  1. "Is he gonna get suspended…yea". That kinda gives the reason people were upset. If you do something that goes beyond the scope of the game which warrants a suspension , people have the right to be upset and outraged. He easily could've gave him a body check, squared up, slashed, face washed, anything but cross check the head….AFTER a goal. Not even in the heat of the game. Because he shot into an empty net too hard. Didnt go after another player or dirty check. It's a microcosm of this insecure Maple Leafs team. From the top down there's no true leader of men. Just guys that think they deserve something they haven't earned and want the easy way out instead of doing the actual hard work it takes to succeed. They are the Dallas Cowboys of the NHL

  2. Poor Leafs players, imagine the pain when an opponent fires the puck in the net, how tragic!!!

I hope somebody changed Rielly's diaper when he got off the ice, what a fackin baby.

  3. You don't need to be that much of a homer, seriously it's embarrassing. What Rielly did was despicable, disgusting and there's nothing that excuses this. Supporting this behaviour is just a bad, sad take.

  4. Doesnt justify cross checking the dude to the face. Plain and simple…..he pays. Everyone expects him to retaliate. Nobody expects him to use his stick to the jawbone

  5. Nope we just have to agree to disagree on this bottom line is a goal is a goal is a goal it matters not whether it is slap shot in or pushed in you DO NOT intentionally try to cause injury to another player he will be lucky to only get a few games suspension he should be fired for intentionally trying to injure another player and the coach should be going along with him for the comments he made.

  6. Well that's why the NHL is so inconsistent because there are no borders it's well this guy did this so it 1 game Burnaby knows the game it's a game that you put up with bs but he made a mistake and just tried to stick up for his players Burnaby would do the same thing.

  7. How the goal is scored is a non issue. Disrespectful? Fine . But using your stick as a weapon is never ok.

  8. ridley grieg with an empty net goal has twisted the collective leaf community fanbase's balls, dominated hockey media with the story, got a bunch of leaf podcasters huffing and puffing and crying, give him the calder

  9. Too much time discussing Super Bowl and NFL in the middle of Rielly chaos. But, I get it. SB happens once a year. I was excited to hear more on it than just a few minutes with Barnaby.

  10. bottom line is that Morgan Reilly committed a blatant assault & yes the Ottawa Player didn't need to shoot the puck hard at an open net ! it's also very obvious that ALOT of Leafs fans are crying about what happened to Reilly & no I'm definitely not a Sens fan !

  11. if he slapped that puck against Vegas, Boston, Florida. that player would still be on the ground. plus it was a moving cross check that happen to hit his head. seen a lot worse this year. wait till the playoffs. its the league just making an example of the media story. BS

  12. imagine for a moment the roles were reversed, Leafs score an empty netter and Marner starts to do a dance. Ottawa's Chabot goes after Marner and cross checks him in the face.with no time left on the clock. OK, leaf podcasters……..go…………what do you have to say now?

  13. Should have played better. Instead of talking about the Leafs Leafing, constantly underperforming, we’re talking about the Reilly hit.

  14. Do the Leafs miss the playoffs – because Morgan attacks a player from behind with his stick – for celebrating a game winning goal with the crowd. If he was looking to antagonize the Leafs – he would have turned to fight the nearest Leaf. He didn’t.😀

I see more teams scoring Slap Shot Into The Empty Net goal celebrations on the Leafs. The Bat Toss Celebration was invented in Toronto – so what goes around comes around.😀 Don’t be so sucky & bad losers. Try to make the playoffs & maybe go on a playoff run for once. That should be the Leafs focus.

  15. Of all ex-players to comment on this LMFAO… Matt Barnaby, one of the biggest dough heads ever to play in the league. JD you are one funny dude. The other dough head Ridley Grieg, a Matt Barnaby protégé, needs to go out and buy himself some gray matter!!! Rid, what did you think would happen on that moronic play? Can't wait for their next game, unfortunately we'll have to wait for next season most likely… Morgan Reilly needs to grow a pair… drop the f^#%ing gloves and lay a beating on the guy! The leafs are soft, Reilly proved it when he used his stick versus his fists. The only good thing that has come from this is that there was a slight showing of life when Reilly took exception to the slapshot. Where was this emotion when Brad Marchand (yet another dough head) took out Liljegren??

  16. 2 guys talking about the CODE of Hockey but trying to say its not a CODE. hahaahahha hilarious podcast. "you just know its going to happen" YEA its called the CODE.

  17. This is basically just the Bautista/Odor situation all over again. Except now it's Toronto that's all twisted up in a knot over a bit of harmless showmanship.

  18. This is why love our radio show well said and on YouTube as well code is everything or if it not code in some fans seeing it this way but should be common sense you should have common sense as a hockey player as a person there’s certain things you just don’t do or you’re looking for trouble on ice or just walking about anywhere being anywhere do something stupid somethings gonna happen that’s it no I think you’ll get one game two is too many I think one because he’s never done it before and he’s just a great guy Morgan Riley❤

  19. If that was Kane or Wilson the bettman would look into it and the league would announce less then a day 😂😂

  20. Pretty fair. Greig's shot is a bit of a rat move, but it was a good move. Some response from Reilly was good, but it shouldn't have involved his stick, and it definitely shouldn't have been what he did. 5-6 games seems likely, and we move on.

  21. Sens fan here. Loved Grieg taking that shot just as a pop off to the invaders in the stands but i dont think Reilly was trying to hit him with intent to cross check to the head either. Battle of Ontario just got interesting again

  22. Leaf haters whine more than leaf fans. Benn tries to decapitate a guy with his stick, couple of games. Montreal player flies in with his stick raised and purposefully used to take Simmons head off, no suspension. Perron knocks Zub out with a cross check to the head. No consistency and questionable consequences, that is the real problem. I don't care what Rielly gets, but the next one better not be less.

  23. The kid crossed the line . He will continue to pay for it down the road . His own teammates were even sheepish to comment on it .He probably was told don't ever fn do it again.
