He needs to resign with The Flyers…… I mean, I know he's not going to, but him leaving was a punch in the gut. If he doesn't think he's got it in him to play 5 more years, then okay. But if he's still in the NHL and The Flyers win a Cup, there's going to be a lot of finger wagging going on. I mean, he baled on them even though not even 2 seasons ago they were the number 1 seed in the playoffs and went to game 7 of the second round. That's not a team in trouble. They have been plagued by injury. Simple as that. I don't think they should've kept Mike Yeo as the one out of the 3 head coaches they hired… that's for sure. I mean, they hired 3, then went with the guy that has no real winning in his record. Why?
Really I'm hoping they can get Johnny Hockey. He's from the area, grew up a Flyers fan, has said in the past that it's the team he wanted to be on, his wife and their family are all from Philly, he's from NJ but if you know Philly, he's from the part of NJ that is basically Philly. Plus, he would be on a team with JVR, a fellow native NJ/Philly guy, and Couturier, another American (well, he's actually dual citizen…. still…). I think there are a lot of reasons for him to seek out Philly. They have the cap space to pay him well, and he would be a great fit. They could use a bit of D too. They traded away D men that I think had a lot of promise. Still, without Braun, they need someone. I don't know what's going on with Ellis. But they have Risto, Provorov, Sanheim, and they have some prospects that are showing promise. Like Attard. His shot can be one of the fastest shots I've ever seen. He just needs to built his frame up, hit that gym, and work on some of the little things.
They have a lot of guys that look really promising. Frost is finally looking decent. Cates and Brink both looked good. And for the team that were in front of them, both Jones and Hart had great seasons.
Make my words, it won't be long. If they make the right moves, they are winning The Cup.
