"Northwestern Canada plus Seattle road trip" is such a clunky phrase. Why not just call it the "Northwestern road trip?" 😅
Husso will doom this team if he comes back. I’m afraid this guy will screw our playoff chances. Hope he proves me wrong.
Honestly… I wouldn't mind if Reimer becomes trade fodder in a "hockey trade" type package deal to bolster our defensive depth while we make Husso the backup. I'd be happy with the reverse as well, but I feel Husso is a better playoff goalie than Reimer.

I think the two most likely games are vs the Kraken and/ or the Blackhawks. I think Husso will build some confidence in front of a bit tighter defense than when he left
Husso has proven his unreliability. Trade him.
Put Husso in against the Canucks. The game is likely going to devolve into anarchy anyway, and if he steps up because of high shot volume then maybe they still come out on top. Lyon already took Edmonton to OT so you have to give him the chance for redemption, and you need those easier wins secured if you can help it. The statement we can beat Vancouver with Lyon was already made too.
If the Wings can get wins against Edmonton and Vancouver (tall task, for sure) maybe they give Husso Calgary and Seattle. Better defense combined with two weaker teams might be enough to give him his confidence back and give Lyon a good break.
I can see a few OT games coming on this trip….
One thing about Husso that I've noticed is that he's REALLY good when he comes back from a long lay-off.. really strong.. Petr Mrazek is like that and Dominik Hasek was like that as well.. also with Dom I noticed he was also very strong in daytime games.. anytime the Wings had a daytime game and I knew Hasek was starting.. it waa like he was the best of himself.. it was crazy! Lol .. man, I miss those days..
However I think Calgary is the team they should start Husso in imo.. they're not a strongly pressured offensive team like that, yet a good test at the same time.. I think Husso will be ready and dialed in .. REMEMBER: it's not like this is his first game period since injury.. he's been conditioning and playing in Grand Rapids for the Griffins.. but more importantly, he's a pro!.. he'll be just fine..

If Husso is back to his old form you should feel confident tossing him into any game ( like a normal 1b ) 🤷♂️

The advantages we have to make the playoffs this year compared to last year is a combination of the goaltending, the offense and the Copp, Ras, Fish line. The team is over 500 on the road, if they continue with a winning road record they will make the playoffs.
