Simon Jordan Reveals Palace Co-Owner Steve Parish Would NEVER Agree To Speak To Him On talkSPORT! πŸ‘€πŸ¦…

We’re going to have a look at one of the top business stories with Tesco Mobile for business um quite quite interestingly Simon It Centers upon and I know you’re somewhat uncomfortable at times about talking about your former Club Crystal Palace but we’re just about to do that because Palace um for reasons

Behind the scenes not for onfield reasons for reasons behind the scenes Palace are in the news this morning Simon two and a half years after buying into the club it could well be that another boardroom reshuffle is on the way Crystal Palace let me explain this and and you you’re across this anyway

But for for those who don’t know Eagle football Holdings headed up by the American the man from Missouri John texter is exploring selling his 45% stake in Crystal Palace Texa became the club’s newest investor and director with a 90 million pound investment but now they have been reports of texter’s

Increasing frustration around his lack of control at the football club and over transfer sources say Texa was Furious after Crystal palace’s chairman Steve Parish voted at a Premier League meeting a month ago to ban transfers between related clubs texter apparently had told colleagues He was unaware the issue was

Even due to be discussed by the Premier League clubs and he would have argued forcefully for Palace to vote against a ban MH so texer is 45% of the football club as you know the others involved in it Harris is 18 so is Blitzer they original American investors yeah yeah

Steve Parish who you know well has 10% of the football club what what what is going on here do you think we’re looking at a boardroom reshuffle if texter is to depart the scene well given that he’s a 45% I didn’t realize he was a 45% shareholder I thought he’ bought 20%

Maybe it’s an additional 20% that he paid 90 million quid for because I don’t think he bought 40 5% for 90 million quid but that’s an as side the point is is that obviously he’s got strong views I mean I think it’s a ridiculous argument that he wasn’t aware of the

Issue because it was all over the newspaper and if he’s not aware of it then get yourself aware it’s a business you’re invested in it’s a business you’re involved in it’s a sport you’re supposed to be on top of so if you’re not aware of a major issue that you

Think is a major issue and you’ve got strong views on it that’s on you I mean look I I have always been relatively dignified about my S about my OBS observations on Steve Parish in my new book next time around I might not be so dignified but he has no doubt no doubt

No no a settling of some scores perhaps no no doubt Parish has presided over a very successful period for Palace and a lot of that has been driven by his thinking and the people that he’s been able to surround himself by so you mustn’t irrespective of my vital towards

Him minimize the extent of the success that he’s had with that football club and whatever period it’s going through right now Parish has done things that I and Ron nodes and previous owners would have only have dreamed to been able to achieve we’ have all loved to been in

The Premier League for 10 years so you have to give the fell some due respect in that in that scenario by actually the Americans have a different view of how Sports should be held together in this country and I’m not entirely sure that it’s always as helpful as we’d like to

Think it is their money is great some of whe views or not I’ve always maintained that the idea I mean you you’ve spoken in the past about Robert Craft and his view of never getting involved in English football because relegation isn’t something he particularly likes and I suspect there’s still that that

That that the vestages or the last vestiges that sort of thinking is some of the other American owners and this idea that um that there would be an objection I think it was a sensible move for football clubs to eliminate some of the abuse that was clearly being put

Into place by football clubs being able to move players between one another to be able to overcome some of the government that football in my view clearly can benefit from so and there’s a personality issue you know Parish has presided over Palace for what 13 years

Now yeah a long time and and and that 13 years irrespective of where the fans are getting a bit dissatisfied about the current level of football has been on the whole with the exception of the first three years where he and his fellow investors found it very difficult

Um was an unadulterated success I know you say that but I mean there’s an allegation that the club’s treading water and that the fans quite rightly want more and the fans are passionate you know that more than me well there’s a brand of football that they’d like to

See theyd like to see a bit more success and of course they’ve got the embarrassment of looking across down the motorway at one of the biggest Rivals Brighton and everyone loing and applauding what they’re doing the development of the young players their development of of a scouting Network and

An enhancement of their buying criteria not because they’re spending more money Tony Bloom is not spending more money on transfers than Crystal Palace his ambition isn’t greater than Crystal palace’s ambition he’s just done it in a better fashion he’s a data analyst he’s a spread betting uh individual that’s

Made his money out of the gambling Marketplace and understands what he’s trying to achieve and he’s made some really good appointments and those appointments would have all been available to Crystal Palace those decisions would have all been made available to Crystal Palace right and for some reason or another they haven’t

Developed as many young players as I wanted to do and did during my time and that’s been Fallen by the wayside and that might just simply be because the pressing business of the Premier League doesn’t allow your young players to get into the first team in the same way they

Might have done if you’re coming out of the championship yeah but come on Simon others have moved forward and Palace haven’t I mean in today’s hot bit of London football how attractive an investment is Crystal Palace oh I still think it’s a significantly attractive investment depending what you’re

Investing in in for now we’re going through a period where where brenford are hitting a funk so all all of the people looking at brenford turning around say well that’s the way to run a football club brenford are now trading water aren’t they but Palace yes there’s

An argument I agree there’s an argument I’m always slightly uncomfortable talking about Palace because it feels like I’m you know some sort of entitled ex-wife spewing her bile about something that she no longer has any business talking about and that’s what was done to me for years by Ron no so I don’t

Like doing it too much but everything changes and nothing stays forever and there may be a need to change of the Guard there may be that ultimately there is a personality change that needs inside the business to be able to kick it on to the next level and some new

Investment may give it that way but panace are only spending the money that they’ve got they don’t have American benefactors in uh Josh Harris and David Blitzer that seem to want to be involved in that business too much more the original guys that enabled Parish to

Take the business from me and are no longer in it and exited and everyone’s been paid Parish has made a lot of money from this business and also a significant reputation and probably more success in this business than any other business has ever been involved in but

The point is is that maybe there’s a time for a change and but that time for change is coming I mean I I’m not advocating for that because I I don’t like some of the things that come out of Texas’s mouth I think Texas said lots of

Things in the past and some of it may well play into the gallery of fans go we want this well you’re more than welcome to buy the rest of the football club if you want to you’re more than well welcome to put more funding into the

Football club and to talk to Parish in a manner which enables the football club to move forward if that is the blockage there is going to be differences of opinion this leaking of information into the media about an issue that you suggest is something that’s really

Broken the camel’s back I.E the idea the the band between transferring between between member clubs yeah you should you’re saying Texas should have known Parish was going to vote that way well come on now you’re yeah but does Texas know exactly what all the people inside Crystal Palace are doing you got to

Remember this guy own shares in in Leon in BOGO in Brazil and in Mullen be and Belgium he doesn’t know everything go on mude of businesses but I bet if you pulled that fellow into a room and asked him what was going on in this business and that business and that business

Pretty much bloody will know it what does it tell us or Simon that two and a half years on he wants out reportedly it tells me that it like a lot of these American vestors in football clubs it doesn’t quite play out the way they think they want it to there is always

Going to be a difference between their perspective and how things should operate clearly there’s a difference of opinion but the argument that’s being moted in here that he didn’t know about something well first and foremost I would imagine there’s communication between shareholders in this business specifically majority shareholders in in

In Texa if you’re not across a detail of business and you think that in detail is quite important you know and it’s all over the media and it’s a Premier League meeting it’s not secret it wasn’t a clandestine meeting kept in secret was it so the bottom line is is it seems to

Me that they’ve reached an empass I don’t know I don’t know whether it’s because there’s a lack of ambition from Parish parish is quite happy to have ambition with other people’s money he’s not going to have a problem if other people’s money’s being put up to be able

To give ambition because it benefits him I I used to speak to Steve Parish a lot especially when I was at Sky and then and now why because of me and because ultimately that’s an uncomfortable true I would doubt that he won’t have a dialogue with you about Crystal Palace

And he wouldn’t come on this show because of the nature of his relationship with me I would doubt that we may put that to the test I can promise you categorically unequivocally wouldn’t want to be in the same room as me because it would make him uncomfortable because there were a few

Home truths that might get told but that’s a different discussion Palace has been a successful football club and I don’t care what fans are saying at this moment in time and I don’t think they should be eternally grateful and I don’t think they should fall into the Roy

Hodon mentality of being grateful for what they’ve got but let’s have it right yeah this football club has been in in the elite league for 10 years and it has never done that despite the best Endeavors of all the fools like me that owned it before you’re a bit you got to give

Credit you’ve got to give credit where credit’s to fair play to you I was a round up of one of football’s top business stories in this instance it regards Crystal Palace Jim White and Simon Jordan Monday to Friday mornings from 10: on a.m. on da via the talk

  1. Parish more successful than Simon as a palace owner but we have to listen to this fella tell us everything that’s wrong with football

  2. Why would he Simon? He’s got a real job running a premier club, doing a much better job than you ever did btw. What’s he got to gain from getting screamed by a bitter failed ex owner who looks like the head of art attack.

  3. A lot of people revel in tearing Simon down, but at the end of the day, Simon got screwed over and to top it off, during the global financial crisis. Steve came in like a cunning wolf and cleaned up. Did Simon make mistakes? Absolutely, but he did get screwed over.

  4. Lots of people on here attacking Simon, calling him a failure when they've achieved a minuscule fraction of what he's achieved in life πŸ˜†πŸ˜…πŸ€£πŸ˜‚

  5. people who are having a pop at Simon on this vid clearly did nothing more than read the headline

  6. I thought Simon was pretty spot on. He was fair in his thoughts towards SP and came across level headed. I think the logical consensus is that Textor would be best to move on to pastures new.

  7. Simon is usually scathing on Crystal Palace and Steve Parish because of his bitterness so if hes ok with them. Its because you cant argue with his tenure of being in the Premier League once in comparison to 13 years consistently being in the Premier league is a relative success. Also why should Steve Parish get into a slanging match as a current Chairman with the previous owner. He helped clean up your mess SIMON JORDAN. FACTS

  8. I am entering my 8th decade in London, in 4 months and Simon has just done what I have NEVER heard ANY female ever do. i.e. Praise someone you don't like. The best you will ever get from a Woman confronted by the achievements of their nemesis is a variation of WHATEVERπŸ˜ƒ

  9. Simon is fair in my opinion here, although he still does clearly not like Parish as much as Parish don’t like him

  10. Is this Simon Jordan a troll? Who heard of the items to be voted on in PL till after the meeting? No reporting that I heard or read listed them to any significant level. This idea that someone in Missouri should have β€œheard” about it seems a little off: how about the internal communications of Crystal Palace not informing everyone about how Steve was going to vote? Is that a possibility?

  11. Simon was a terrible owner and never good enough or rich enough to make Palace a success, why Jim white always asks his opinion when talking about dealing with agents and running a club lol. It was such a long time ago that football and how to run a club has moved on something Simon cant seem to comprehend. He's good entertainment but in reality he's just a waffler with abit of money.

  12. To be honest teams that come up don't last very long and go right back down. Some make it. But the system is set up to keep the rich clubs up, because of their money.

  13. Crystal Palace is usually in the most relaxed place on the table. Don’t fight for European spots and rarely get into the relegation battle. They are consistent in their form and league position in the mid warm area.

Still, they do that in a relatively small stadium and with limited resources.

  14. The self appointed CEO of being right about everything is at it again.

Why would Parrish want to talk to such a gob shite, Simon would talk at him until he left the room.

Has Simon got anything nice to say about anyone, apart from Neil Warnock?

He seems a very depressed chap

  15. Like him or loathe him, SJ speaks his mind and for the most part is very fair on other people's viewpoint and recognising other's achievements OR failures.
He calls a spade a spade.
He lacks warmth and oozes arrogance at times, but that doesn't make him incorrect, just human!
I'd like to have a bevvy with him for his intellect and sarcasim alone!

  16. Jordan could advise Parish how not to run a club into the ground from his past experiences

  17. Simon isn”t the centre of the universe (as he like to think) SP isn”t going to waste his time going on TS for a slanging match. SJ talks about place like a bitter old girlfriend who got dropped after 2months.. it’s boring now, your speaking from the sidelines face facts !

  18. Palace = Stability. After the first season of staying up …Palace really only had 1 season where they were in a relegation fight. Built a new academy. New stand in the works. Younger attractive squad. Long term set up.

  19. I like SJ. Read his book. Respect what he tried to do w Palace, but its a different business to others and it took him and nearly all his money to learn that.

  20. "English" Football πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ and you lot were complaining about losing your soul via the super league, sold your arses decades ago
