Thunder Signs Physical Dman Crevier-Morin

Wichita, KS (Aug. 2nd) – The Wichita Thunder, ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Edmonton Oilers, AHL’s Bakersfield Condors and powered by Toyota, announced today the signing of defenseman Marc-Olivier Crevier-Morin for the 2017-18 season.

“I’m really happy to be coming to Wichita and play for the Thunder,” said Crevier-Morin. “I’m excited to start my pro career and meet my new teammates. Just really looking forward to getting the season started.”

Crevier-Morin, 21, enters his first season as a pro. A native of Chateauguay, Quebec, the 6-foot-2, 210-pound blueliner recently completed a four-year career with the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League’s Gatineau Olympiques. He racked up 229 penalty minutes to go with 56 points (14g, 42a) in 195 games. This past season, he served as the team’s captain, recording 16 points (6g, 10a) and 110 penalty minutes.

“Marc-Oliver is a tough, hard hitting stay-at-home defenseman that came highly recommended by people I know in the QMJHL,” commented Head Coach Malcolm Cameron. “He’s been a leader and a team-first player. We’re excited to have him this season.”

Prior to the start of the 2014 season, Crevier-Morin participated in development and rookie camp for the Montreal Canadiens. The rookie defenseman is known for playing with an edge and a physical style of game.

Crevier-Morin becomes the ninth player announced this offseason and joins Matt DeBlouw, Dyson Stevenson, Jeremy Beaudry, Travis Ewanyk, Etienne Boutet, Justin Hamonic, Istvan Sofron and Louick Marcotte on the roster.
