Give a lot of credit to Goalie Coach Curtis Sanford for helping the hard-working Samsonov to elevate his game especially the leg saves on quick releases ! ! !
They badly outshot the Blues also, multiple breakaways. I know many people will disagree with me but a Leafs team without Tavares I mean they never sign him and so those contracts of the young guns would not be as rich or if they didnβt like the offer of Lou ( in this alternate universe Lou stayed with Toronto, hence a more sensible cap situation and a balanced team that was built for the playoffs and oh yeah and Sorokin was on the Leafs! And multiple playoff runs, a Finals appearance ( they lost but under Dubas his giving 4 players half the money well we all know that hasnβt worked. Other Cup contenders and winners nobody has built a team like the Leafs. This lunch pail kinda guys tonight was sweet to see!!

Could it be possible that the Sheldon Keefe system is best suited for an evenly spread level of talent from the goalie to the D-to the wingers and the centres?? If somehow they could get rid of the Tavares contract and bring in a world class defender and split the Marner contract to two wingers, a left and a right….I don't know but Keefe's system looks better when there is solid talent spread throughout.
