2024 NHL Draft Profile: Medicine Hat Tigers Forward Cayden Lindstom

If the San Jose Sharks don’t get Macklin Celebrini, Cayden Lindstrom could be the perfect fit for their rebuild. Hadi Kalakeche of @LockedOnNHLProspects joins to profile the 6’4 forward for the Medicine Hat Tigers of the WHL. We discuss what makes Lundstrom such an intriguing prospect and how he combines a safe floor with a high ceiling. Then, we discuss where Lindstrom would fit into the Sharks’ prospect pool and how he would complement what the Sharks already have. Finally, we discuss Hadi’s 2024 mid-season draft rankings and why the Sharks could be in a good position to get a great defensive prospect in the first round.

  1. U pointed out, that big players and especially big defensemen are dream of every GM. I don't agree with this statement. And I would like to give as an example Colorado. They understood very well that the seize doesn't matter. And I'll be really happy if the Sharks will go in this direction, otherwise they could learn the lesson like Buffalo did. Colorado has more smaller than bigger players but very fast, intelligent and skillful players. I would rather have top 6 with smaller and very fast players than have big guys trying outpowered the opponent. It's not that effective imo. I still like Lindstrom and want him as well if we'll miss on Celebrini just hoping we will not continue in this direction of rather picking bigger guys than skillful machines.

  2. Sounds like a good player. From the previews of him and Celebrini, it's not clear why indsrtom would be a steep drop from Celebrini. If anything, there would be a bump in value from the power-forward perspective. That's super valuable in the playoffs.
